Snowman Songs, Finger Plays, and Poems Snowmen Five little snowmen standing round my door. This one melted and then there were four. Four little snowmen beneath a green pine tree. This one melted and then there were three. Three little snowmen with caps and mittens blue. This one melted and then there were two. Two little snowmen standing in the sun. This one melted and then there was one. One little snowman started to run. But soon he melted and then there were none. I Built a Little Snowman I built a little snowman. { make circle with hands } He had a carrot nose. { point to nose} Along came a bunny. { hold up to bent fingers} And what do you suppose? That hungry little bunny, { make bunny again } Looking for his lunch, { hop bunny around } Ate the snowman's nose. { pretend bunny is eating nose } Nibble! Nibble! Crunch! { pretend to be eating a carrot }
I’m a Little Snowman Tune: I’m a Little Teapot
I'm a little snowman short and fat. Here are my buttons, here is my hat. When the sun comes out, I cannot play. I just slowly melt away!
Five Little Snowmen Once There was a Snowman Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman, Once there was a snowman tall, tall, tall. In the sun it melted, melted, melted, In the sun it melted small, small, small.
Five little snowmen sitting on the ground, (pat hands on floor) the first one said; "oh my aren't we round." (make circle with arms) The second one said; "there are snowflakes in the air." (wiggle fingers above head) The third one said; "but we don't care." (shrug shoulders) The fourth one said; "lets run and run and run. (pat hands quickly on the floor) The fifth one said; "I'm ready for some fun." (smile) Whew went the wind (blow) and out came the sun (make circle with arms over head) and the five little snowman knew their fun was done. ( pretend your melting)
Snowman Hokey Pokey (to the tune of the Hokey pokey).
You put your snowman up, you put your snowman down, You put your snowman up and you shake him all around. You do the snowman pokey and you turn your self around, Two stomps on the ground. You put your snowman in front You put your snowman in back, You put your snowman in front and you give your knee a whack. You do the snowman pokey and you turn your self around, Two stomps on the ground. You touch your snowman to your head, You touch your snowman to your toe, You touch your snowman to your head and you shake it to and fro, You do the snowman pokey and your turn your self around, Two stomps on the ground. Snow Ball
Shel Silverstein
I made myself a snow ball as perfect as could be I thought I'd keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it's head Then, last night it ran away But first -- it wet the bed.
One day we built a snowman, We built him out of snow; You should have seen how fine he was, All white from top to toe. We poured some water over him, To freeze his legs and ears; And when we went indoors to bed, We thought he'd last for years. But, in the night a warmer kind Of wind began to blow; And Jack Frost cried and ran away, And with him went the snow. When we went out next morning To bid our friend "Good Day", There wasn't any snowman there... He'd melted right away!
