GUEST LECTURE
IN COLLABORATION WITH GEOPHYSICAL ENGINEERING ITS In
the last June 2015, SPE ITS SC collaborated with Geophysical Engineering ITS held a guest lecture with a theme “Carbonate for Exploration Seismology (Case Study Onshore East Java) and Unconventional Reservoir”. The guest lecture was attended by general students of ITS. As we know, oil and gas exploration needs sophisticated methods and technology. In the analysis of geophysical, seismic is a method to determine the characteristics of the reservoir. And this method is the first step that has to be done before deciding to extracts oil and gas. This guest lecture also discussed about unconventional reservoirs. We bring speakers who are experts in their capability, Mr. Alexis Badai Samudra and Mr. Rio Sebayang from PT. Pertamina. Mr. Rio Sebayang explain about Carbonat Seismology, and Mr. Alexis Badai Samudra explain about Unconventional Reservoir. Here we go the summary from this guest lecture just for you!

Facies of seismic carbonate can be interpreted through the analysis of configuration, amplitude, frequency and continuity of reflection seismic. Development of oil and gas or non-conventional energy, increasingly necessary to support our national energy needs. As we know, conventional oil and gas reserves in Indonesia has declined. The amount of new reserves were found not proportional to the amount of reserves produced. On the other hand, the need for energy continues to rise. In order for national energy security is maintained, Indonesia needs to develop energy sources other than conventional oil. Given the energy sources of oil and gas is still the most widely used today, the development of unconventional gas, including shale gas and tight sands. Carbonate rocks is non silisiclastic sedimentary rocks. On these rocks contained carbonate fraction were greater in number than non-carbonate fraction, number of carbonate fractions more than 50%. SPE ITS SC 2015/2016 WORK PROGRAM MEETING On Thursday, June 11th, 2015, the
International Office of ITS conducted the Workshop Magang Ormawa. The event was held from 10th to 15th June 2015. The event was held in the Auditorium Building, SAC ITS, 3rd floor. The participants of this event is 100 people who are representative of each Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan), BEM, and LMB ITS. With material: How to make International Collaboration, SPE ITS SC brings about our big event, namely PETROLIDA 2016. Rianjar Hakim, President of SPE ITS SC, as the speaker, he said that PETROLIDA 2016 have target to get the participants not only from Indonesia. Therefore, we expect that the material useful for the participants of the workshop.

the selection of the new batch of the SPE ITS SC 2015/2016 period expired, few students who have the capacity to be qualified enough as staff, head of the division, and head of department in this batch of ITS SPE SC 2015/2016. Because of the new batch, the President and Vice President held Working Meeting of the new batch of SPE ITS SC period 2015/2016 which was held at the Hall of the Academy of Nutrition Surabaya on September 11th 2015. The meeting began with a speech from the president and vice president of SPE ITS SC 2015/2016, and proceed with the presentation of the president's vision and mission. After that explanation of the work program of each department and division. The event was a success and after the end of a working meeting, then start the whole program of work that has been describe until the end of stewardship

SPE ITS SC 2015/2016 MEMBER OPEN RECRUITMENT Entering the new school year appears a new face on heroes campus ITS Surabaya who were busy preparing the assessment period as as ”Mahasiswa” and leave identity as a “SISWA”. They also had prepared themselves where they will occupy himself during a ”Mahasiswa”. Not only in academic lectures, but also in non-academic activities and organizations. SPE ITS SC as a student chapter of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, which is the organization in the field of petroleum also took a part as a place to forge new students (“Mahasiswa”) who want to learn more about the world of oil and gas. Open toughest of recruits SPE ITS SC members have been deployed throughout the environment ITS through poster by stating the contact person and registration link. From the information SPE ITS SC getting a tremendous positive response from new students in 2015. It is visible when the open toughest of recruiting members, SPE held by the division of membership in the central ITS library. SPE when the booth opened, only a matter of minutes booth has been invaded by ITS students who want to join a member of SPE ITS SC. In contrast to previous years, open recruitment of new members, SPE this year is only limited to 325 members, but only within 3 days that amount can be fulfilled. According to the head of one division of the SPE membership Adhitama Rachman restriction was made because SPE ITS SC wants younger members besides coordinating SPE ITS SC believes if a good measure whether or not the organization is not for quantity but quality. OK2BK ITS GEOPHYSICAL ENGINEERING
E LEC TRIC AL ENG I NEER I N G Orientasi Keprofesian dan Kompetensi Berbasis Kurikulum (OK2BK) is an activity that will be faced by all new students in ITS. OK2BK is (scholarly orientation and Profession-Based Curriculum). This activity is a process of recognition of the new student campus. In this activity SPE ITS SC got the opportunity to give a bit of material in OK2BK activities in several departments such as Geophysical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The material presented in this activity is about everything that is SPE ITS SC : what the organization is all about, what is the benefits of joining SPE SC ITS, and what are the work program in SPE ITS SC. With such material presented, it is expected that the new students can find out more about the SPE ITS SC. Antusiasm of new students to join SPE ITS SC was fantastic, one of the main reasons they want to join the SPE ITS SC is to obtain information about oil and gas ,so that they can work in the oil and gas companies. Unlike in Electrical Engineering, when SPE ITS SC gave the material in Geophysical Engineering, there is the concept of sharing session between SPE ITS SC with new students and also SEG ITS SC. At the end of the activity as a symbolic form above given chances SPE ITS SC to fill OK2BK event in Geophysical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, the SPE ITS SC representatives gave a plaque to representatives of the event in each department.

IPEE, stands for Integrated Petroleum Exploration and Exploitation, is the biggest workshop event held by Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) ITS Student Chapter collaborated with Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) ITS Student Chapter. Cooperation with these organizations, makes IPEE become annual workshop with expert speakers from various oil and gas company. In this event, the SPE ITS SC received a positive response from the new students who want to learn more about the world of oil and gas. The event was opened by an introduction and welcome speech from the president of SPE ITS SC, then explanation of the department and the work program. With a fairly positive response from the participants, SPE hope can help to accommodate students who want to develop in the field of oil and gas.

MANGROVE PLANTING OPEN RECRUITMENT Atmosphere central library of the Institute of Technology at 10 to 18 November unusual. Participants can register of planting mangrove which carries the tag line green agent not only via offline on central library, but also via online by opening on the link provided by the committee. With the registration fee only 10,000 rupiah, participants who participated in this event will get lunch, certificate and of course the experience of how we realize the environmental concerns with concrete action.
Mangrove is a plant that has a functional role in coastal ecosystems, mangroves are also believed to be able to process waste materials and industrial pollution resulted by ships on the ocean. Seeing so many mangrove roles in maintaining environmental balance that, the division of SPE SC ITS community outreach held an event planting mangrove. Mangrove planting is an activity that aims to prove to the public that the SPE ITS SC concerned about the environment. Planting mangrove supervised by the division of community outreach in the form of planting mangrove along with the environmental community. The event was held in Ecotourism Mangrove Wonorejo On Saturday, November 21, 2015 enthusiastic participants who attend and par According Bagus Luserius, chairman of the event said that planting mangrove held by SPE ITS SC because SPE is a community that is engaged in oil and gas. students who are members of the international office of ITS (IO) they are very excited to participate in this event and support if this event can be held regularly every year. Before stepping on the core event there is also a group forum discussion, video profil of community outreach playback The enthusiasm of the organizers and participants involved in this mangrove planting makes ITS TV interested in covering the event who attended by hundreds of participants. According Fakhriar Naufaldi who participated in this event to call if to be a green agent is easy just to enroll us in the event planting mangrove then we will know how easy it is to contribute to the environment either by planting mangroves, besides that we also will know the community of nature ITS environment outside. On December 12, 2015 SPE ITS SC hold career days. In career days were held at the Pasca Sarjana Buildings, there are 3 speakers from Halliburton. Halliburton is one of the service company that gave an opportunity to export the talents of local residents, as it is a quotation from Mr. Donya Tasdik that the first speaker in this event. Mr Her Pekik Himawan explaining the wireline and perforating , To train the students’ ability in English, Mr. Her Pekik Himawan explaining his material with English language. then followed by last speaker , Mr. Aldi Ghazalli which is HR Partner Halliburton Indonesia Operation describing the education background. According to Mr.Aldi Ghazalli graduate college background is not the main thing in the recruitment process work at Halliburton, but the skill and behavior competence need support to work at Halliburton. Students must have good skills in the English language (english fluency) also in computer literate. Halliburton Indonesia only select peoples who have the competence good behavior for example, strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, Potential leader, Organizational, and practical experience. According to Rama, the chairman of this event said that if the goal of this event is to provide information to students about what is to be prepared when the next pass in addition to the career days students will learn what is needed oil and gas company. On this occasion there is an interview session, so that participants can feel how the interview when going to work later
SPE ITS SC & INDOCOR ITS SC BENCHMARKING Indocor ITS SC is a new student chapter in ITS. If SPE ITS SC sheltered under Geophysical Engineering Department ITS, Indocor ITS SC sheltered by Indonesian Corrosion Association (Indocor) and first established since September 2015. That should we know, ITS is the first campus that has Indocor Student Chapter. Chaired by Maulana Malik Sadiqun from Materials and Metallurgy Department, together with his board and committies visited the board of SPE ITS SC. SPE ITS SC attended by Faiz Farhansyah as vice president of SPE ITS SC and several representatives of departments such as Muhtadi Setyanto, Dimas Rahfaditya Pradana, Muhazzib, Fadlillah Nur Raharjo, Lukas Paembong and Rizal Cesarian. The first agenda was introduction of Indocor ITS SC to SPE ITS SC. The presentation was delivered by Maulana as the chairman of Indocor ITS SC. Maulana explained about what department are, who boards and commities are, and what kind of event that will be held soon. one of the important events are certification of corrosion and also Indonesian Corossion Week. Then proceed with presentation of SPE ITS SC to Indocor opened by Faiz as vice president of SPE ITS SC and also delivered by other head of department who explained the work programs of SPE ITS SC. The next agenda is the question and answer session and sharing session from both sides. one of them is how to obtain financial assistance to ITS for competition and delegations activities, and other things were discussed during the meeting. SPE ITS SC took part in the event oil expo held at Trisakti University, 10 to 12 June 2015. Oil expo is an event organized by the Student Association of Petroleum Engineering of Trisakti in cooperation with the Association of Indonesian Petroleum Engineering (IATMI SM) Trisakti and SPE Trisakti SC, There are various events held in the annual event with the theme The strategy Methamorphosis To Face Energy Crisis is that smart competition, debate competition, paper and oil rig design competition competition and PoD. SPE ITS SC sends 15 delegation in this event, which is divided into two groups, namely smart competition team A and B, 1 Team paper competition, one team of oil rig design competition, and also one debate team competition.

SPE ITS SC participated in Petroweek SPE Trisakti SC which is their biggest annual event. There are 4 SPE ITS SC delegation that went to the event with the theme of the sustainable energy breakthrough. The results obtained by the SC delegation ITS SPE event, held 16-19 September 2015 is a best team with UTM Malaysia, UGM and UI in international events conference. APOGCE An annual event that rotates between Australia and Indonesia, the Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) is one of the premier upstream technical events in the Asia Pacific region, covering a broad range of technical disciplines involved in exploration and production activities. This event held for the first time in Bali, Indonesia, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center from 20-22 October. There are several events in APOGCE that conference, in this event, we can listen papers that have been artificially by students as well as professionals. In addition there are also events petrobowl, in this event, students are required to have extensive knowledge of the oil and gas, petrobowl event was attended by students of international level. In this event, SPE ITS SC sent 10 delegations, consist of 2 teams petrobowl, 2 people who follow the conference and also 2 voluenteers of APOGCE. On this event, SPE ITS SC is still not able to be the best ,but according to Paul Chemistra one of participant PETROBOWL admitted if participation itself in APOGCE gives an amazing experience because we will get knowledge about the oil and gas industry, in addition to the many relationships ITS can be obtained by SPE SC both national and international levels. He hopes more and more delegations SPE ITS SC which follows a similar events. The same statement was said by Siti Damaianti the APOGCE voluenteer in 2015 he was able to meet with professionals from various companies in Asia Pacific, in addition to the Conference she can find out the latest information regarding oil and gas. OGFEST UTM MALAYSIA OGFEST an event held by the University of Technology Malaysia, there are several events in 2015 that oil rig OGFEST competition, Petroearth competition, poster competition, Mud Innovation competition, Paper Presentation Competion and Petrobrain competition. OGFEST 2015 seen as an effort to encourage students and young minds to be a part of the effort to widden knowledge regarding the oil and gas sector, development of human capital and awareness of global environmental sustanability. In the event that was held on November 16 to 17 this SPE ITS SC sends 10 delegation which follow several events there.
