Scoop on Campus

Welcome to the 4th edition of Scoop on
Campus. This month’s scoop is the ELF Dance will be performed at the holiday assembly on December 11th. Also late start in December will be on the 7th of December. The Winter break will be from the 21st of December thru the 4th of January. Also on December 7-11 will be a special spirit week.
Monday is scarf day, Tuesday is sports day, Wednesday is holiday sock day, Thursday is hat day, and Friday is pajama day. Finally the Best Buddies holiday party will be on Dec. 11th from 3:00-5:00pm That’s all I have for now join me next time, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Jake, the Movie Buff Reviews By Jake Marinez Ho ho ho, Welcome to my fourth movie buff review. This month is Christmas. Now this month I have chosen the movie Elf. In this movie Buddy the elf wants to go to New York City to go see his dad. Buddy likes Christmas because he likes to be an elf. Buddy has one brother and they have
fun at the snowball fight. Buddy is funny because his dad works with a dwarf, Buddy teases him by calling him an elf. The dwarf gets angry and says, “Call me elf one more time”. Then Buddy says he’s a angry Elf. What I got to say of this movie, this is one of my favorite Christmas movies, I give it 9 out of 9 stars!

4th Annual Cookie Challenge
Who Wants Cookies?????

The cookie challenge is a great annual contest that comes every December at Troy high school and only the people in our special program can participate.
In this contest we decorate our cookies. Ms. Redmond’s class is making the cookies. And we in the program get to decorate the cookie with sprinkles and frosting. There are four categories for the cookie contest. They are: Best Use of Sprinkles/
Frosting, Prettiest, Most Creative and Best All Around. The winners of these categories will feature their cookies in the year book and they get a free lunch with the Journalism Staff. At the end of the school year students in our program will see their cookies in the yearbook.

I will be talking about hockey during the Christmas edition. The local teams that play are LA Kings, the Anaheim Ducks, and my favorite team is the Penguins. All of the teams are trying to win the Stanley Cup. The point
system tells you who’s in first place and the score for the each team. The winter classic will be on January 1, 2016. Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens will be the winter classic. There is a video game on the sport a of hockey. The Kings, Ducks,
and the Penguins are in the video game called the NHL16.The cup was the first awarded 1893 to Montreal HC and has been won a combined 95 times by 18 active NHL teams. The Montreal Canadiens have won the cup a record 24 times. This is Roberto signing out BOOYAH!!!

In Tune with Bailey By Bailey Williams Hey guys this month I will be talking about the King of rock and roll. He has been gone for a while but his legend still lives on. Even though he is gone I still love his songs. One of my favorite songs by him is Can’t Help Falling In Love. The meaning of this song is that falling head over heels for someone is not a bad thing but its
hard to stop. Trust me, I know. How The King Died: Elvis Presley died on August 16th, 1977 at the age of 42. The cause of death was covered up by his family; it is suspected that it was from an overdose of prescription drugs that caused his heart to stop.T here are even pictures on google of him and the autopsy of

Wrestling Season By Jesus Garcia
Wrestling is right around the corner and everybody should be ready. Do you ever wonder what wrestling is like? Do you know what it takes. Well know you can from me. Wrestling is not an easy sport it takes a lot of discipline, commitment, sweat, blood and tears. Wrestling also consists of takedowns, pins, reversals, etc. You wrestle on a big mat with
a big circle in the middle. You have to wear headgear and a singlet. The way you score is by taking down, escaping, reversal, and near fall By taking down you get 2 points by escaping you get 1 point by reversing you get 2 points and a near fall is 3 points. Practice started on November 9th. We wrestle most of the time and learn how to do different moves to do during a match. Our first match is against Warren
on December 3rd. Some famous wrestlers are Cain Valasquez and Mark Munoz from the UFC. Well I hope you learned a little about wrestling from me.
