Sports premium funding 2015-16

What is sports premium funding? Overview In March 2013 the government announced it was to provide additional funding to improve the provision of physical education and sport n primary schools in England. This has become known as the sports premium funding. The government has committed to providing this funding for schools until 2020.

Objectives for Sports Premium at Cottage Grove Primary School 1. The Sports Premium will be used to provide additional support to improve the progress and raise the standard of attainment in PE for all pupils. 2. The Sports Premium will we used to provide specialist PE teaching within school. 3. The Sports Premium will we used to allow children to access a wide range of sporting opportunities including inter-school competitions.

Sports premium spending plan 2015-16 In the academic year 2015-16 £9,533 has been allocated for sports premium funding. Action/ project Objective 1. Impact All children receive specialist PE teaching. All staff receive training on teaching PE. Increased opportunities for children to gain competition experience.

All year 3 pupils engaged in regular physical activity kick starting healthy active lifestyles.

 Specialist teacher provides high quality teaching of PE to children across the school.  Teachers benefit from watching high quality PE teaching and have a chance to improve their own PE skills, knowledge and understanding.  Yr. R children have the chance to take part in a fun after school sports club alongside their parents.
