Board of Directors
Dear ASPIRA Families,
Fernando E. Grillo, Chair Estrada Hinojosa & Co., Inc.
We are writing to inform you that ASPIRA of Illinois and our teachers’ union, Chi-ACTS, have reached a tentative agreement and a strike has been averted.
Gustavo Vidal, Treasurer Vidal & Associates Orlando Saez, Director Aker
ASPIRA of Illinois was founded on the principle that ALL students can reach their full potential as leaders through quality education and programs that support their needs. Many of our students come to our schools facing many challenges - from language barriers, to academic barriers - as they prepare to become firstgeneration college students. Our teachers are on the front lines every day working with them and we are grateful for their service.
Maribel Rodriguez, Director Chicago Transit Authority Luis Martinez, Director City Colleges of Chicago Juan Morado, Director State of Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board
Negotiations are never easy, especially during the financial crises ASPIRA, and all City of Chicago schools are facing. However, we are happy that both sides were able to come together to reach an agreement, and that instruction for our students will go uninterrupted.
Francesca Guzman, Student Director Alum, ASPIRA Early College High School Student Board Member
As we move forward, the ASPIRA administration and Board of Directors’ continuing goal is to operate an efficient and fiscally responsible organization and charter network, while providing the best possible education for our children.
