Esmeralda County School District has developed a Behavior Management Plan to encourage a productive learning environment. It is intended to help students and staff work together. Proper behavior begins with solid lessons and classroom management. Teachers and staff will provide a structured atmosphere to help students stay focused and enthusiastic while maintaining proper behavior and respect for their learning. Minor infractions or disruptions do occur and teachers and students work together to solve behavioral problems without the need for formal documentation. The Behavior Management Plan works together with specific learning and behavior plans developed by teachers that help each individual student grow as a person and professional student. IEP and 504 plans also stipulate specific behavioral guidelines and requirements that must be followed in tandem with the Handbook’s Behavior Management Plan.

Behavior Management Plan Minor infractions disrupt the learning environment without causing verbal or physical harm to people or destruction to property. They are annoying and will result in discipline if not corrected. The following are redirection steps to help resolve minor infractions, per discretion of the staff member. Redirection steps:

Notes:

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
