Sometimes we feel a bad thought and a little voice seems to tell us to do something which we know is wrong. Even though we can’t see it, we still need to protect our heart from having these harmful thoughts. We do this by saying ‘Audhubillah’ and asking for Allah’s protection. Allah has ‘power over everything’ and he can help you fight away the whispers that tell us to do bad deeds.
Audhubillah – O Allah I want to be safe and protected with you
Allah has given us a brain so that we can control and choose what we do. No one can make you do anything. They might ‘whisper’ and give you ideas to do something wrong, but when you are safe with Allah’s protection, you have the power to fight the whispers away and not listen to them.
Friends who tell you do something you know is wrong When you don’t feel like listening to Mummy
When we have Allah’s protection, it is like we are wearing an indestructible suit of armour so that nothing can harm or get through. It gives us the strength to fight away the bad thoughts. Surah Naas, the last surah (114) in the Qur’an, is a surah we can recite to have Allah’s special protection. In this surah, we ask for Allah the LORD, the KING and GOD of all people, to protect us and keep us safe from the ‘waswas’, the bad thoughts that are whispered into our hearts that make us do something wrong. We must recite Surah Naas with surah falaq, everyday to keep us safe and under Allah’s protection from all types of harm, especially from the things we can not see.
