Circular Ref. No : 31/2014 All Members, Trading Access Point (TAP) This in continuation to the circular no. 012/2014 & 013/2014 dated March 07, 2014 on new TAP version (Trimmed TAP) for NNF users on Linux OS and Windows OS respectively. In this regard members are requested to note the following: 

Tool to measure internal TAP latency has been provided. ( Refer Annexure – 1 for details)



Members using Linux / Windows TAP are required to ensure migrating to respective Trimmed TAPs in co-location on or before July 04, 2014. Implementation of trimmed TAP in other than Co-location is optional.

Annexure – 1 User Manual Trimmed TAP Log Analysis Tool: The trimmed TAP analysis tool provides the set of utilities to perform the analysis of internal TAP latency (Request Side and Response Side) and the order rate achieved through TAP Application. The tool is made available in the following extranet path: For CM - Windows : /common/TAP Analysis/Windows - Linux : /common/TAP Analysis/Linux For F&O - Windows : faoftp/faocommon/TAP Analysis/Windows - Linux : faoftp/faocommon/TAP Analysis/Linux For CD - Windows : cdsftp/cdscommon/TAP Analysis/Windows - Linux : cdsftp/cdscommon/TAP Analysis/Linux Precaution need to be taken in Advance: These set of utilities works only on Windows OS (Windows XP and above) hence unzip the Linux and Windows utilities on Windows OS only. To perform the Latency and throughput analysis it requires the TAP logs. To avoid any adverse effect on TAP application during the market hours, copy the TAP Logs to another machine which contains these analysis utilities (In case of both Linux and Windows TAP log analysis). These analysis utilities will work only for Trimmed TAP logs of CM-FO-CD market segment. Request Side Latency Analysis: For Linux For CM market, give the file “th_network_handler_thread_request....dat“ as an input to the “Linux_CM_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe”. Then it will give the Request Latency for each request message into output file Request..csv file. Note that every Request/Response file will hold only 60000 records and a new file will be created incrementing the file count. e.g.

For Windows For CM market, give the file “th_network_handler_thread_request....dat “ as an input to the “Windows_CM_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe”. Then it will give the Request Latency for each request message into output file Request. .csv file. e.g.

Note: All Latency Numbers are in Microseconds.

Response Side Latency Analysis: For Linux For CM market, give the file “tws_network_handler_thread_response....dat“ as an input to the “Linux_CM_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe”. Then it will give the Response Latency for each request message into output file Response. .csv file. e.g.

For Windows For CM market, give the file “tws_network_handler_thread_response....dat“ as an input to the “Windows_CM_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe”. Then it will give the Response Latency for each request message into output file Response. .csv file. e.g.

In Similar way, For FO Market, use “Linux_FO_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe” for Linux and “Windows_FO_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe” for Windows TAP internal latency analysis. For CD Market, use “Linux_CD_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe” for Linux and “Windows_CD_Trimmed_TAP_Analysis.exe” for Windows TAP internal latency analysis.

Order Rate Achieved Analysis For Linux To check the order rate achieved for the respective market (i.e. CM, FO, CD) give the “th_network_handler_thread_request....dat “ file as an input to the “Linux_Trimmed_TAP_Order_Rate.exe”. Then it will give per second order rate achieved into Order_Rate.csv file. e.g.

For Windows To check the order rate achieved for the respective market (i.e. CM, FO, CD) give the “th_network_handler_thread_request....dat “ file as an input to the “Windows_Trimmed_TAP_Order_Rate.exe”. Then it will give per second order rate achieved into Order_Rate.csv file. e.g.
