Prior to ironing a cotton thread tatted lace cross bookmark you will want to rethread the thread ends back into the lace for a professional finish.

= Repeat Pattern Between , TATBiT TaTs ± = Join (Link) Picot, - = Picot, . (period) = Close Ring, + (plus) = Join, * / (slash) = Before /= DK Count, /* (slash) = After /= LHK Count, <1>----- = One Shuttle, <1>---CTM---<2> = Two Shuttles Wound CTM, CH-LHK: = Lark’s Head Knot Chain, CTM = Continuous Thread Method, DK = Double Knot, LHK = Lark’s Head Knot, LP = Long Picot, R = Ring, SR = Split Ring, S1 = Shuttle One, S2 = Shuttle Two

1) Tie a tight square knot, close to bottom of the ring (square knot omitted in diagram), prior to rethreading thread ends. 2) Using a needle threader, pull thread through one or two knots at a time. Do not try to force thread if it will not pull through easily. Instead rethread needle threader back through finished knots first and try pulling again. 3) Be sure to rethread the thread ends back through as many finished knots as possible prior to cutting off the excess. 4) Wet both sides of the cross with water. 5) Place cross (front side down) on a clean, dry, white cloth. 6) Heat iron to lowest setting. 7) Place another clean, dry, white cloth down on top of cross.

8) Press till cross is dry. I do not recommend using starch, sizing or a stiffening agent -- ever! Store clean, dry lace in an acid free environment when not in use.

Finishing Touches with Nylon Thread... ♥There is no ironing nylon thread.♥

I found it next to impossible to rethread thread ends back into finished knots if using the C-Lon Micro Beading Cord. Tie a tight square knot, close to bottom of the ring. Place a small dab of GS Hypo-Tube Cement onto knot. Let dry. Snip ends off.
