Discussion Questions: 1. Read Jeremiah 7:1-15, 21-24 as a group. What do you think the main point of these passages is? 2. What were the Israelites doing that Jeremiah was encouraging them to correct? 3. What were the consequences going to be if the Israelites did not “change their ways?” 4. What are some things in your life that you think the Lord is trying to lead you to change? 5. What are the consequences in our lives when we don’t “change our ways” from sin? 6. The Israelites trusted that going to the temple excused their sin; what Christian activity might we subconsciously trust more that we should? 7. In v11 Jeremiah tells the Israelites that although the Lord has been watching their lives. Why is it important for us to remember that God is watching how we live? 8. Read v24 as a group. What do you think it means that they went “backward and not forward?” Ask some group members to share the direction they are moving in relationship with Christ. 9. Take time to pray for each other. Ask God to help us be humble to His correction and not stubborn towards His love- that we might move forward in Christ.
