The Shapiro-Wilk Normality Test The Shapiro-Wilk test is a popular normality test. Its hypotheses are as follows, given α = 0.05: Null Hypothesis: The data is normally distributed. Alternative Hypothesis: The data is not normally distributed. Rejecting the null hypothesis infers the data is nonnormal and should use nonparametric statistics for your anaysis.
