Words from the Prez: April = Testing. I don’t like it any more than you do, but it is what it is. I know that at this time more than any other you also are feeling tested. Teachers in our state are feeling tested by the lack of respect the state government gives us, our profession, and our students. It is time to test our senators and representatives! It’s time to hold them accountable. There will be a forum this week. PEAK is holding a public education forum at Bartlesville City Hall (401 S. Johnstone) Friday evening, April 21st from 6:30 – 7:30. Representatives Sears and Dunlap as well as Senator Daniels will be there to listen to concerns and answer questions. In addition, come to the BEA Rep Meeting on Wednesday, April 19th in the Madison Library from 4:15 – 5:15 to hear from our OEA president Alicia Priest.

Job Fair The job fair was a success this year. Judy Allen visited with about 25 hopefuls. Several of these job seekers were education members in their current districts. Each person saw the value of being a member of our education union. Let’s hope they will be at the new teacher meeting in August.
