March Issue #2
The Madness Never Ends It's Friday afternoon and I am sitting down to write this newsletter, immensely surprised that I have been organised enough to be able to find the time and not rush this issue and a little proud of myself for being this much in control. Miracles do happen! I'll keep that in mind for next week as I try to keep up with this new flow, in the mean time, I bring you the week that was and more! Till next time my pretties Ama Addo xxx
1. This week, Monday 6th March was Ghana's Independent Day and it filled me with major homesickness. Also my friend told me about Ed Sheeran's song Bibia Ye Ye in which he sings in Twi and it's fabulous! Check it out here! 2. Below that is a picture of myself with my youngest sister who was in Lanzarote this week and making me totally jealous! 3. Next to that is the lovely view from my gym! Yes, I still go, surprising isn't it. Even better still, I signed up for swimming lessons this month, I'm super stoked to get started.
Have I Got News For You! I have two life updates this week both relating to my ever changing working situation. First of, on Wednesday I finished up my Retail Assistant job and it was really sad. Although I know it is a necessary change to go for fulltime employment elsewhere, I am going to miss my team. Guess I'll just have to keep popping back so they can't forget me. Secondly, those of you who follow me on Twitter might've seen this morning that I had an interview for a job I was pretty excited for. I shall keep you all updated right here in the Get In The Know newsletter and of course on Twitter so if you're not already following me, you know what to do. Join me here.
LONDON IS CALLING No I have not built a shrine to worship dolls, but someone else might've. As promised in Wednesday's post I'm going to share a few bits of my itinerary for London and also reveal why this trip is so one of a kind. On the list for London amongst others, is: The House of Dreams built by Steven Wright. A collection of memories and life memorabilia created into art. It's basically a mad man's den! Or a genius man's den depending on how you look at it. One man's junk is another man's treasure eh? The Shard: I shall be getting an eye full of London from The Shard building, the tallest building in London and fourth tallest in Europe, so you can be assured that I will be seeing...A LOT! There's even an open deck floor which I am super excited for. There's also the London Eye, Camden Markets and of course the Glass Animals concert, the main reason I am going. There's more but I'm keeping my cards close to my chest for now.
So alas, what makes this trip so different? I am going Couchsurfing for the first time. For those of you who don't know what Couchsurfing is, it is a network of travellers where
you can find accommodation with fellow travellers who 'host' you, locals to meet up with and generally a way to get a more authentic feel of a place if you're not into touristy vacations. It's my first experience with it and I can't wait. I have my accommodation sorted but if anyone wants to meet up whilst I'm there, 15th21st March 2017, just send me a message on any of my social media sites, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
LITTLE GEMS FOR YOU: How To Create A Media Kit
This week's gem is one for the bloggers. Whilst reaching out for some potential collaborations this week, I could not escape the fact that I simply needed to create a Media Kit. I found this really easy and simple step by step guide from The Collective Mill. It was super helpful and easy to follow to create my own fab
Media Kit. If you too have been shying away from this aspect of your blog, fear not, with this guide you'll have you kit whipped up in no time. Check it out here. Also included in the post is a free template! Thanks for reading guys. Next weekend as I'll be in London, there may not be a newsletter out but be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter to keep updated and there'll be lots to share when I get back!
