THE HUNGER GAMES REVIEW "The hunger games" is the first book of a trilogy, the second one is "Catching Fire" and the last is "Mockingjay".These are very interesting books. Suzanne Collin wrote these books, she is a succesful writer from North America. I'm going to speak about the first book "The hunger games".

This book is based on the future. The capitol is the centre of the nation of Panem. Citizens who have violet, green, blue... hair live at the Capitol. Years ago, in the Dark Days there was an uprising or insurrection and because of this, the Capitol forces the twelve districts of Panem to send a teenage boy and a teenage girl to compete in the hunger games. These teenages are called "tributes". The Capitol broadcasts the hunger games by TV to intimidate the people of twelve districts. The tributes compete to survive in one space which the Capitol chooses. The tributes kill other tributes until only one tribute survives. When this tribute arrives home, she or he has glory and food for him or her and for his or her district.

The main characters are Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.

Katniss is a sixteen-year old girl who protects her family.

Peeta Mellark is a sixteen-year old boy who works with his family in their bakery.

These two characters are from District 12, the district of mines. Katniss' father died in a mining accident, so Katniss hunts illegally at the surroundings of District 12 with his best friend Gale to feed her family. Gale is eighteen years old and his father died at the same mining accident. At the 74th hunger games ceremony districts chose their tributes by one lottery. At District 12 the first name which apperared was Prim Everdeen, Katniss' younger sister. When Katniss heard this, she volunteered to take the place of Prim because she knew Prim wouldn't survive at the hunger games. Then, the second name was Peeta Mellark.

Katniss ana Peeta are mentored by Hatmitch (the only winner of District 12). Haymitch became a drunk after he won the hunger games. Later Peeta and Katniss went to the Capitol to train with other tributes and finally, they went to compete at the hunger games. In my opinion this book is very interesting. It has got a lot of action and reading it is incredibly interesting. You get hooked on the book right from the first pages and you can't stop reading it. In the middle of the book there are a lot of surprises with Peeta, Katniss and other districts' tributes.
