Scholarship applications requiring a transcript will be processed in the school counseling office. Allow 10 days before the deadline for processing transcripts. Paper transcript requires a $3.00 fee per transcript. Horation Alger Association. One hundred $10,000 awards. Criteria: Students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, and a good academic record. The Network of Enterprising Women Scholarship. Any female high school student (whether she attends home school, public, or private school) who resides in Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Hanover, Henrico, Goochland, Louisa, New Kent, Petersburg, Powhatan, Prince George, and Richmond City and has been accepted at an accredited college or university is eligible for a $1,000 scholarship. The Society of Cincinnati in the State of Virginia History Essays Contest for College scholarship. Criteria: Any graduating Virginia high school senior who has been admitted to a four-year college or university in the Commonwealth of Virginia which he or she plans to attend in the fall of 2018, is eligible to enter the essay contest. See Mrs. Lawrence in the school counselor office for an application. Deadline: March 16, 2018. GFWC Worthington Woman’s Club Wanda K. Alexander Scholarship. Scholarship amount: Two $1,000 scholarships. GFWC Worthington Woman’s Club is part of General Federation of Women’s Clubs, the largest women’s volunteer organization in the world. Criteria: Transcript of grades, an essay of not more than 300 words outlining the need for the scholarship, a resume of volunteer/community activities, and 2 individual references. Application deadline is March 1. Hamilton Relay Scholarship Award. Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or has difficulty speaking. The objective of the scholarship is to assist graduating seniors in their pursuit of a college or technical degree. The application process is open to all seniors and seniors who are a member of the PTSO by November 30th 2017. The applications will be open from January 15, 2018 through February 16, 2018. The Armenian Education Center is pleased to announce an essay question contest, which will award a $1,000 scholarship to one Virginia high school student. The Southside Virginia Chapter, Incorporated Military Officers Association of America. Roper Memorial Scholarship. Award of $1,000 scholarship. Criteria: High school senior. Application for the Roper Memorial Scholarship grant (tuition only) will be considered for children, stepchildren, and grandchildren who reside in the Southside, Virginia area or live outside the designed area, but have a relationship to any of the following who reside in the Fort Lee and the Southside Virginia area. Application deadline: March 5, 2018. Fort Lee Federal Credit Union 2018 Excellence in Leadership Scholarship Program. Fort Lee FCU will award three Collegiate Scholarships totaling $4,500. Fort Lee Federal Credit Union 2018 Career Path Award. Fort Lee FCU will award one Career Path Award. In the amount of $1,000. Any high school senior who is a Fort Lee Federal Credit Union member and pursuing a certificate or technical degree at a career college, community college or technical school is encouraged to apply. Richmond Chapter of Credit Unions Scholarship Programs. Criteria: Students who are members of Fort Lee Federal Credit Union are eligible to apply; more information and application see Mrs. Lawrence is the school counseling office. Deadline: March 28, 2018. Sports Backers Scholarships. Sports Backers are offering to high school scholar athletes in the Richmond metro area, several additional scholarships that are geared towards students who demonstrate financial need. These scholarships are the following: The Cheryl Lockett Oliver Memorial Scholarship and the Raymond Delaware Patterson Memorial Scholarships. The two scholarships will be in the amount of $2,500. Candidates under consideration for these awards will be senior scholar-athletes who have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and are in need of financial assistance to pursue college.
