WHY IS THE QUESTION OF ORIGINS IMPORTANT? It may be possible to study the world and life without considering origins, but it is not natural to do so. The question of origins has a direct bearing on our behavior, our destiny, our concept of God, and our philosophy of life. If God created us, we are accountable to Him. If we evolved from nothing, we are our own. If the Bible is true, it is authoritative. If it’s not true, anyone who’s faith is in the Bible’s truth is foolish. In today’s Darwinian culture, those of us believing in Biblical Creationism are scorned and laughed at as if we are medieval illiterates clinging to old wives tales and ill-contrived fables. The evolutionists know if we don’t believe in creationism, then why should we believe anything else in the Bible; if we don’t believe the Bible, why should we believe God; if we don’t believe in God, why should we employ His moral codes; and if we don’t employ His moral codes, then we are free to decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong – and deciding for ourselves is what we have been doing. Deciding for ourselves has filled our prisons, killed our unborn, and given rise to one of the deadliest diseases mankind has ever known. I believe evolution is one of the greatest and unfortunately one of the most successful lies in history. Make no mistake about it: Evolution is an assault on the very foundation of Biblical Creationism; therefore, it is an assault on the Bible and upon God Himself. Darwinism (evolution) has also influenced the thinking of many historical figures as well. The most notable would be Carl Marx, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, and

Adolph Hitler. These men were vocal supporters of evolution and consequently felt perfectly free to choose what was right in their own eyes. Unfortunately, what was right in their own eyes led to shocking levels of tyranny and human depravity. Hitler justified his treatment of Jews and Blacks as sub-humans worthy of genocide because he believed they were lower on the evolutionary chain. At the Olympics he complained that his finely trained (and defeated) athletes were made to compete against apes! Should we be surprised that our culture seems to be disintegrating all around us? As Christians we need to heed the Scriptures where we’re told to be “…destroying imaginations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God...” (2 Cor. 10:5)

UNIFORMITARIANISM Uniformitarianism is the view that all processes have always occurred at the same rates. This is used to explain how the Colorado River “carved out” the Grand Canyon by eroding the rock a little at a time over millions (billions?) of years. Uniformitarianism is necessary for the theory of evolution to be accepted. Evolution demands l – o – n – g periods of time for chance and “natural selection” to take place. The biggest trouble with this view is that it ignores cataclysmic events, such as earthquakes, volcano eruptions, and floods. Especially ignored is The Flood of Noah’s time. The massive erosion and pressures of the huge amounts of water that formed deep valleys and tall mountains, even the continents are just ignored, even easily, as they don’t believe the testimony of the Bible.

These uniformitarianists are the scoffers the Apostle Peter wrote of: They will say, “Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:3-7

RADIOMETRIC (Carbon-14) DATING Despite what people have been led to believe, there are no dating methods which give an absolute date for the formation of the earth. All dating methods are based on non-provable assumptions about some event in the past. Furthermore, there is a strong bias to reject any dating method which does not allow enough time for evolution to have happened. C-14 dating is dependent upon uniformitarianism and we’ve already discussed the shortfalls of this There are actually very few dating methods which seem to indicate that the earth is extremely old. On the other hand there are many dating methods which indicate that the earth is quite young. But if they’re accepted, then evolution is obviously a myth and creation becomes the only logical alternative. Could this be the primary reason that only those methods which seem to indicate very old ages are acceptable?

I’m not sure you can really have it both ways. If evolution is true, it seems the Bible is just a myth, or a crutch for the weak-minded – as many evolutionists claim. If evolution is not true, then the world has accepted a lie – a lie that can and will lead many to a Christ-less eternity.

Faith in the Gospel is LIFE-CHANGING FAITH ! Those God converts WILL change!

The challenges of the 21st century demand that you decide on which side you stand. Those who keep silent have made their decision.

Jesus said, “Unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Luke 13:3

Jesus Christ says “Every kingdom divided against itself... will not stand, He who is not with Me is against Me.” Matthew 12:25, 30

So, before entering into a faith relationship with Jesus Christ, COUNT THE COST !

You MUST repent! You MUST turn away from your sins – and keep turning away for the rest of your life! In fact, repentance is the lifestyle of a healthy Christian! At times, it will be HARD!

WHERE DO YOU STAND? WHAT WILL CHRIST FIND YOU DOING WHEN HE RETURNS?

Hard or not, acceptance or refusal of this GOOD NEWS will determine your destiny.

Jesus said, “The time has come! The Kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the Gospel!” Mark 1:15

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” John 3:36

Repent means to turn away from the sinful ways of the world!
