Celebrating Nairobi's Architectural Heritage In 2012 an initiative was launched to identify noteworthy buildings in Nairobi and develop a formal list of them, spearheaded by the Architectural Heritage Advisory Committee (AHAC), a public-private leadership group comprised of experts in the design, development and heritage fields. The main thrust of the selection process was a public survey, where anyone with an interest in in Nairobi’s development and its architectural heritage was encouraged to vote for the buildings that they valued most. In 2013 the Architectural Heritage Advisory Committee compiled the public’s votes and added to the list additional buildings which Committee’s members also thought to be architecturally important. Nairobi’s top buildings – voted by the city’s residents – is below. It’s now time to celebrate our diverse and wonderful architectural heritage! No. of votes
