Where is parking for the tour? The tour this year will begin at Florida Southern College. Ample parking is available on campus at the corner of Johnson Ave and Frank Lloyd Wright Way (previously MacDonald St.). Parking is free. Tour check-in will be staged across the street from the parking lot outside of the FSC visitor center. If I purchase my ticket online or in advance at a participating merchant, do I still wait in line the day of the tour? Pre-purchased tickets will have a separate line and check in. All guests MUST fill out the liability waiver prior to receiving a wristband. Homes do not open until 11am. We suggest downloading the waiver and having it filled out completely prior to check-in. If homes open at 11am, what time should I arrive to check-in? Tour check begins at 10:30am. However, homes WILL NOT open until 11am. The Frank Lloyd Wright visitor center is available for browsing and shopping while you wait. Is the home tour handicap accessible? Wheelchairs are not allowed in the homes. Most of the homes on the tour have front porch steps as well. Though we do provide shuttle busses, the busses do not stop at every house. The stops are near a cluster of homes and significant walking is still required. Are children allowed on the tour? Yes, however children are not free. Each person on the tour, including small children, must purchase a $15 ticket. Strollers are not permitted in the homes. We encourage guests to make this an adult outing and find an alternate activity for the kids that day. What is the appropriate attire for the tour? Dressing casually is best. Some homeowners may require the removal of shoes before entering. Please be prepared to remove shoes or slip disposable booties over shoes. Highheels are discouraged. Are the homes fully accessible to tour guests? Not necessarily. Each homeowners decides how much of his/her home will be on the tour. Often owners select certain rooms as off limits during the tour. Accessibility varies from homeowner to homeowner from year to year. Where are the restrooms? The Frank Lloyd Wright visitor center has public restrooms. The Polk Museum of Art is also a bus stop and provides public restrooms. Homes are not available for restrooms. Are the busses free and when do they run? Yes. The shuttle busses are included in the ticket price. They will be begin at 11am and end at 4:15pm. May I drive my own car from house to house? Yes, however most if not all of the homes are on streets with little or no on street parking. Guests are encouraged to use the shuttle buses. There is no guarantee you will be able to park near the homes and parking tickets may be issued by the city if there are parking violations. May I purchase tickets for only a few of the homes on the tour? No discount or partial tickets are sold. Can I begin the tour anytime between 11am and 4pm? Ticket sales will end at 2pm. There is not enough time to see all of the houses if you begin the tour after 2pm and no partial or discounted tickets are sold. Why are the houses not announced in advance? To protect the privacy of the homeowners, we do not announce the homes in advance. To learn which homes are on the tour, you must purchase a ticket. Then you will receive a wristband, a brochure with the tour map and a description of each of the homes. Can I just show up at a few houses without purchasing a ticket? No. Volunteers at each home will check each guest for a paid wristband. No wristband, no entry. Wristbands are non-transferable. Can we stop for lunch and then continue the tour? Yes. There are many great local restaurants in the neighborhood. The tour promptly ends at 4pm. Plan your time wisely.
