Sneak Attack : (See PHB 96) Expertise: Double Proficiency on Dex Checks related to Stealth and Sleight of Hand
The Heist The Setting
You have one chance only to make this happen. You are not as prepared as you should be but sometimes you must take risks. No one is even supposed know but you are a master at getting information. So here you are, the lone thief attempting to steal “the treasure” and the guards and soontobe previous owner think they are clever and stealthy. But they are about to be outfoxed. It is midnight and the scene is set. A carriage sits in front of the Inn and someones luggage is being loaded. That luggage you suspect contains a solid gold mace. The mace was made in honor of the god, Pelor. It was crafted for upcoming ceremony in the god’s honor and few even know it exists yet. The plan is to unveil the mace at the ceremony to amaze the people. It would be a great insult for such a treasure to fall into the hands of a drow. The scene is set. You see a lone guard watching over the carriage from the back. From what you’ve seen no one is in the carriage. One side of the carriage is completely blocked by the Inn. It’s difficult to tell but it seems the underside of the carriage is clear. Speed and Silence must be your allies to succeed. You’ve scouted out the block and are aware of the alleyways and other nearby buildings. It’s time. Ready, Set, Go.

Shotgun Notes This campaign will require a little extra creativity to make the robbery interesting. The above image is an aide but it’s scale and details are entirely up to you. The Brown Square is the carriage. Allow Player to decide where they begin on the map (rooftop, alley, behind a street lamp, etc.). Use Ability Checks to test Player. Is the Player disguised? Will Player charge in? Does Player notice the Driver? Can Player break into the Carriage before anyone else sees or arrives? Lastly use the Chief Guard however you see fit to advance the story.
