Types of Clubs and Club Activities Clip 6 Transcript Speaker 1: I’ve been in Sassy, which is a gay-straight alliance (GSA), since grade 9. I don’t really know if I’ve been in any other clubs this last year. Oh yeah, and Mowatt TV, which started this year I think. Speaker 2: Since Grade 9 I’ve been a part of Mowatt Christian Club. I try to go every Wednesday to Me to We for the past two years, and this year I joined the Mowatt Music Council. Speaker 3: I’ve been a part of Mowatt Music Council for four years and this year I’m one of the tri-captains. I’m also part of the Equity Committee and SASSY, and occasionally the Mowatt Athletic Council. Speaker 4: I’ve been on the Mowatt Athletic Council for four years. I’ve been doing Me to We for two years. I’ve been on Mecca for four years. I’m the co-president this year. I’ve been part of the Mowatt Christian Club for two years. I’ve been a big part of the Mowatt Theatrical productions. Speaker 1: For me, for the GSA, it’s just a topic or cause that I find really important because I’m into equality for everyone. Marriage equality and anti-bullying. Speaker 2: For me the Christian Club mainly, in all honesty, my mom, when I told her about it she said “You should join” and I said ok. Throughout the years, it’s been good because you could go with other believers who share the same faith, and you know you’re not alone. It’s really paid off now being co-captain in helping other students who come in now for the future. Speaker 3: For Sassy, I’m on the same path, I think that’s a really, really big issue now a days that we need to deal with. And also equity, the teacher approached me in the hallway to join and that’s how I ended up joining that. Also for MMC, I’ve been playing the clarinet for six years now, seven years, so it’s a really big part of my life so that’s why I decided to join it. Speaker 4: I just enjoyed getting involved in school activities and enjoyed having that base and support of people that you’ve met at different clubs. Like in Christian club, Me to We, and the base and support of people you get to interact with, it’s the new people you got to meet.
