September 8, 2016 TZ PTO meeting called to order at 6:04 p.m. In attendance: Melanie Welker, Jana Boggess, Jon Strube, Angela Huff, Erin ConferStaggers, Shannon Green, Carrie Ball and Dayna Timcheck. Secretary’s report: Erin read August minutes and approved as read. Jana Boggess-Savings account balance is $2611.43 Checking account balance is $2,285.13 Transferred $2,000 from savings into checking until deposits from fundraisers come in. The $2,000 will be moved back after the money comes in. A. Restaurant Nights- Heather Grable 9/27 McTeacher night. 10/27 Putnam Inn. 11/27 Anthony’s. Working on Pizza King, Marvin’s, Meyer’s Market. Waiting on Subway check from the corporate office from the August 15th fundraiser. B. Box tops- Danya Timcheck-2,396 collected as of today for all grades. Bulletin board is up and totals are up there. Coke rewards 5,671 points to date. Campbells 10,695 points. C. Fall Fundraiser- Melanie Welker-$4,540 so far in orders. Three direct plea payments were donated for a total of $70. D. Kroger Cards-Brian Cox no report E. Men’s group-Brian Cox Would like Men’s group’sr help with walk/bike to school day on Wednesday, October 5th. F. Fitness Fanatics-Michelle Reece-Began this week and Michelle is staying as the chair. Angela asked if she would post milestones on Facebook and Michelle has requested a bulletin board. G. Teacher Appreciate-Melanie Welker and Carrie Ball co-chairing. Birthday packs were distributed in August. Parent Teacher Conference support (snacks for teachers/staff staying late, apples, caramels, apple cider, blessings mix and granola bars) H. Spirit Wear-Angela Huff-shirt designs shown, order forms will be in office and posted in Facebook when the design is ready. I. Texas Roadhouse Rolls-Mary Duncan October 26, 2015 was the date we started sales last year. VI. Old Business A. Revisions to 2016-17 budget—Budget from last year was successfully closed. Jana has suggestions for changes for Income: move fall fundraiser amount to $6,000, POTH to $4,000, SCRIPs to $250, Roadhouse rolls to $1,700, added two line items: Time with teachers $715 and spring Bookfair for $100. For Expenses, under school functions line item, add convocations for $1,400. We have lowered field trips is $500/per grade. It was moved by Beth Evans and 2nd by Danya Timcheck. Passed unanimously. B. Time with Teachers--$1,382.00 pledged- and we will subtract cost of snack and materials. 7 different activities. 90 students signed up. Some space is
still available for sign ups. Most popular Spa and Harry Potter. Angela is acquiring 5 volunteers for set up, 5 during, 5 for clean-up. Next time with teachers will be in March. C. Ice Cream Social Family Picnic—Good weather. All ice cream was gone— used 6 gallons of ice cream—need more for next year. Didn’t need as many popsicles. Water out there was good. $149.00 was cost of the event. VII. New Business A. Fall Family Night-Beth Evans Thursday, 11/10/16 in lieu of November PTO meeting. 5-7:30 p.m. is book fair 5:30-7 is chili supper. Mrs. Hendershot is working on a science activity in the gym for that night. She needs help acquiring electrical “junk” that can be used to be repurposed and she needs help staffing it during the event. Some food will need to be donated for the supper, also (crackers, desserts, bread, peanut butter) Shianna Mendenhall is doing set up and decorating for the book fair and Suzanne Funk is doing the daily accounting and deposits. Preview 11/4, then kids purchase as a class on M, T, W, Th with final night at Family Fun Night. . VIII. Principal’s Report-Mr. Strube - 9/11 observance as a school on Friday, 9/9/16 and doing a nationwide sing along of the National Anthem. Short program also. Turning a classroom into a “book lounge/study” environment for students and staff by donated furniture Mr. Strube is collecting. IX.
