Customer Challenge The company was experiencing stock loss due to lack of operational control and temperature monitoring, they estimated it cost more than USD 4,000 per month across its fleet. Yangon traffic is a major issue and the company lost many hours of productive time with drivers using the traffic as an excuse whilst sitting in a tea shop. The company had some vehicles with GPS to track the driver’s location and routes using the GPS monitoring installed on the trucks, but could not be notified of any cargo current temperature and staff hated using it due to it’s terrible user interface. Solution DRVR was chosen for its comprehensive answer to a very expensive problem. DRVR’s local knowledge and locally based development team were also key factors in decision making. Components of the system installed included temperature sensors that attach to the inside of the truck with easy installation. The DRVR portal alerts management instantly if the truck’s temperature is beyond its predefined borders. The DRVR Manager portal is available 24/7 and forwards alerts and messages from the hardware device and sensors via Email. Historical and real time reporting give the fleet & logistics manager a complete operational dashboard. Results The DRVR solution was able to considerably reduce lost merchandise and improve on time delivery. This system allows management to both react on a tactical basis to each incident while also analyzing summary reports each month to better optimize their training and processes. The Operations team love using DRVR Manager. “It’s so different from our old system, much easier to use”. “If we have a problem we can talk to the DRVR team in Yangon and they will fix the problem for us.” The Managing Director loves to use the DRVR smartphone app when he’s out of the office. “It gives me peace of mind”.
