At Home Study Guide For the week of September 3 Matthew 11:25-30

This Labor Day message finds us in between two series, considering Jesus’ invitation in the gospel of Matthew. Use these questions below to study further his words in the passage.

Context: Opposition to Jesus is more pronounced beginning in Matt. 11, especially from Jewish leaders. As you read this passage, how do those facts help you understand the passage better?

Observation: How do you think verses 25-27 connect with verses 28-30? Who are the wise and understanding, and who are the little children? Who are the heavy laden?

Meaning: What does Jesus offer? What are the different aspects of the rest he gives? How does Jesus’ gentleness and his light burden help you to follow him?

Application: How are you experiencing transformational learning as a Christian? What needs to be your next step as a learner/disciple and disciple-maker?
