Welcome to Shelley Fuller who is our newest member of the admin team. Whilst Shelley and her family are new to the Red Beach area - she brings a wealth of school admin experience to the position. She is very much looking forward to meeting the wonderful Red Beach School community that I have been telling her all about! Congratulations to all our students who successfully and enthusiastically participated in the walkathon on Friday. We had a huge band of adults who so generously gave of their time - to you one and all thank you! Sponsorship money now needs to be collected up and handed into the office. Please can you check that your child’s form is correctly completed before it is passed on to us in a sealed envelope with the amount clearly shown on the front with the child’s name & room number. We were certainly very lucky with the weather - let’s hope we have the same luck this Wednesday with our School Athletics. Julie Hepburn Principal

Kerry Verkade Kerry’s mobile: 0220646604 www.coastfamilies.co.nz Tip of the Week: The school holidays are coming up fast and as Parents and Caregivers those two weeks can often bring thoughts of dread. The thought of the kids at home all day can fill you with panic, especially if you already have a busy week. Planning now can help with any holiday stress, especially if the main caregiver has to continue working in the holidays. Sit down with the children and talk about the holidays, in a fun and enthusiastic way. Write a list of things they would like to do. These don’t have to cost any money, it could be things such as looking in rock pools for crabs, a hut day when you turn the lounge into couches draped with blankets or a green day when everyone wears green clothes and you eat green food. Having this list will help you see the holidays as a time to create special memories for your children and if someone is looking after them over the holidays it can be a guide for them to plan some events that the children love.
YOU ARE INVITED: Wednesday 6th April 9am for a coffee/chat. Meet other families and get to know each other. This is hosted by Kerry Verkade, Coast Families. Venue : Staffroom th

Interschool Swimming - 24/03/2016 What an amazing day it was (yet again) for the swimmers that headed off to Northern Arena to represent RBS at the Interschool Swim Meet. We took along a team of 8 fantastic little fish who were superstars on the day. Not only did these RBS swimmers show their RICH hearts by portraying excellent sportsmanship when competing against swimmers from schools all over the Hibiscus Coast (including lots of friends from other schools and even the other RBS kids), they also showed their determination and self motivation to be the best they could be and their risk taking skills. Although there were quite a few nerves at the start of the day, these soon disappeared as the races began. All RBS swimmers made it through to the finals for at least one of their heats and some even made it through to the finals for all of their heats/races. Both our boys and girls relay teams won their races (with screaming support from Miss Wilcox and our wonderful parent helpers and spectators) and were shining with pride in their efforts. RBS came first overall, about 80 points ahead of the runners up (Whangaparaoa) and received the cup/trophy for the 5th year in a row. Well done to the RBS Interschool Swim Team (Ngawaii Simpkins, Mackenzie Rogers, Rose Meban, Isabella Seymour, Hamish Dennis, Nathan Jennings, Jaden Ingram and Luka Fairbairn) on a very successful day of amazing swimming, RICH hearts and LLL qualities. Also, thanks to our amazing parent helpers and of course Mrs Bluck who played a huge role in organising such a well organised and enjoyable event Team Results Last week RBS Galaxy vs Stanmore Bay 3 Loss to RBS 9-14 With 2 players down, our boys played admirably and made us very proud - POD Matthew Johnson RBS FLAMES 12 vs STANMORE BAY 3 4 POD Isabella Seymour
