Heaven's Bounty ~ This food pantry is in our back yard and it would be wonderful if some of our members could help out. The Southern Singles Ministry is a ministry recognized by the GCC, and under the tent of the Church Ministries Department is operating a food pantry in Apison. They serve 30-40 families each day that they are open. We are in need of volunteers who could assist with putting food in bins before the clients arrive. The need is for individuals to serve in three hour blocks of time, once a week, once a month or whatever works for the volunteer. There is also a need for drivers who would be willing to go to Food City and pick up food once a week. They can load the food in their trunk, and/or back seat then deliver it to the center. The drivers spend about 2 hours picking up and delivering food. The pickup ups can be done on Sunday through Friday. Please contact Linda Robertson at 423/322-7206 to volunteer, if you can help with this important ministry.
