Read EVERY day! Constitution’s Reading Stars for November is due November 30th. Please be sure that your student is recording their reading minutes each day!
Reading – This week, we will start to learn vocabulary that is related to human rights. Students will be responsible for knowing these words. All students have fluency homework EVERY night. Please help them by timing their reading and asking them the comprehension questions. There is a quiz every Friday about their weekly reading.

Math – This week, we will continue learning how to divide multi-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10, 100 and 1,000.
Please have your student read to you tonight. Ask them questions about what they read. We are working on fluency.
Please have your student continue to practice their math facts EVERY day.

Check your student’s agenda every day for homework assignments.

Friday 18 The Annual Spelling Bee is taking place in our classroom on Tuesday, November 29th. Please help you student study their 5th grade spelling words. The week of Thanksgiving, we have school on Monday and Tuesday only!

Reading and Math: Read for at least 20 minutes EACH day! Practice your math facts (both multiplication AND division) EACH day! Results from last week’s Reading Comprehension Quiz – 40% of students scored 70% or above on their comprehension Results from last week’s Mid Module 2 Math Assessment - 40% of students scored 70% or above on this quiz. There are many opportunities to get help with both reading and math. I have after school tutoring through the 21st Century program EVERY Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I also host Thrive Thursdays, which is open to anyone. Please have your student get help in any area they are struggling in.
