Panzer General II Adlerkorps Edition Windows 7 and Vista troubleshooting If you are experiencing any problems with this game, try one of these solutions below (these solutions were written for Windows 7 64bit but should work for 32 bit version too). Always update your Windows, DirectX9, graphic card drivers and install Bink video codec (The RAD Video Tools) - download and install DirectX9 from Microsoft Download Centre (search "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer"), from this direct link or go to \TOOLS\DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer\ folder in PG2AKE main folder and run dxwebsetup.exe. - download and install The RAD Video Tools, from this direct link or go to \TOOLS \RADTools\ folder in PG2AKE main folder and run RADTools.exe.

1. Compatibility mode: - change the compatibility mod of the PG2AKE.exe file as per this screenshot:

- close all programs running in background! - run PG2AKE.exe and play the game.

2. GOG.com version of ddraw.dll file (most recommended): - download and install GOG.com version. You can buy the game on GOG.com. - copy ddraw.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOGcom\Panzer General 2\" folder to "C:\panzer2ake\" folder (default folder). - run PG2AKE.exe and play the game.

Rayydar's DxWnd4PG (Nvidia cards issue fix): - run DxWnd4PG.EXE from "c:\panzer2ake\TOOLS\DxWnd4PG\" folder. - (If you have the game installed in different folder than c:\games\panzer2ake\ select “c:\games\panzer2ake\PG2AKE.exe” click to “Edit” and choose “Delete”. Then click to “Edit”, select “Add” find PG2AKE.exe, open and click “OK”. - double-click the PG2AKE.exe in DXwnd window (see picture) and play the game.

4. Curtis’s color problem fix for Windows 7: - turn the background to a solid color (black worked for me). Then you have open the Screen Resolution window on the desktop (right-click). It seems just leaving the window open is enough...not sure HOW or WHY it works, but it does in case anyone else hits you up for help with Windows 7 color issues! - run PG2AKE.exe and play the game. 5. Horrorist’s “Kill Explorer Batch File”: - open a notepad and type these exact lines: taskkill /f /im explorer.exe pg2ake.exe pause start explorer.exe

Save this notepad file as in this case PG2AKE.bat and choose to save like "all files". Save it to the directory where your game is (example: c:/panzer2ake/). - Alternatively you can use PG2AKE.bat from \TOOLS\ Kill Explorer Batch File\ folder in PG2AKE main folder. - run PG2AKE.bat and play the game.

6. D3DWindower (play the game in window): - you will find this application in \TOOLS\D3DWindower\ folder in PG2AKE main folder. - run the "D3DWindower-English.exe". - (If you have the game installed in different folder than C:\games\panzer2ake\ select “PG2AKE” and press the "-" button (you will delete existing program path), then press "+" button and add PG2AKE.exe). Once selected the game icon will appear in the software window.

- select the game's icon, press triangle button. Then close the software.

To run a game once added to the tool: - run the "D3DWindower-English.exe" again. You should see Panzer General icon and PG2AKE (see picture above). - double-click the PG2AKE icon and play the game in window.

Palettestealer Suspender (fixing color problems): - you will find this application in \TOOLS\Palettestealer Suspender\ folder in PG2AKE main folder. - open program and browse for game executable (PG2AKE.exe). - the program will set the "Start in" path for you, in most cases, this should be fine, so don't change it. You now have two options: a) Press "Start Game". The program will suspend processes in the list which are changing the colors and start the game. b) Press "Watch Game". The program will wait until the game is started and then automatically suspend the processes in the list. -------------------------If any of these solutions doesn’t work for you go and ask here.
