Annual Report 2016
KWAZULU NATAL, SOUTH AFRICA
Dear valued WhizzKids United supporter, It gives me great pleasure to introduce the WKU Annual Report 2016 packed with great infographics and data which show our achievements over the past year. One of the highlights - we attracted more youth through our Health Academy than ever before! We were delighted to host our partners Charlize Theron African Outreach Project, the MEC for Health KZN, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo and the world press ahead of the opening of the 21st International AIDS Conference in Durban. This was a huge endorsement of all our hard work. I’d like to dedicate this Report to one of our greatest WKU players, Stefan Kunze, who returned to Germany after 10 years of remarkable passion and dedication to WKU. N THE BALL
“On the Ball” is WhizzKids United’s engaging and youth-focused life skills curriculum that teaches lessons using football as an analogy. Our wonderful football coaches use the sport to teach youth about HIV & AIDS, teamwork, goal-setting, and how to stay fit and healthy. We offer the programme to all local schools. Over 48,000 young people have graduated from “On the Ball” since 2006.
