OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP
Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College was founded by Sri Ranganatha Paduka Vidyalaya Trust under his Holines Srimad Andavan Swamigal at Thiruvanaikovil, Tiruchirappalli in the year 1996, inagurated by Dr.D.Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then President of India. The College, which is situated in sylvan surroundings, has well qualified teachers and excellent infra structure and a modern digital library for the benefit of the students, research scholars and faculty members.
Department of Computer Science
R Programming is an open source programming language and software for environment statistical computing, graphics and Data mining. It is supported by the R foundation for Statistical Computing.
The college is recognised by the UGC in 2003 under Schemes 2f and 12B. The college has also been recognised as a Scienctific and Industrial Research Organisation by DSIR, Govt of India. It is a Self-Financing Co-educational Institution, imparting higher education and exalted to the status of autonomy in the year 2014. The College has been re-accredited with “A” grade by NAAC in 2013. it offers 13 UG, 11 PG , 10 M.Phil and 10 Ph.D programmes. In addition to that the college offers 6 diploma courses and 16 certificate courses. It offers value based education for both rural and urban students irrespective of caste and community. Nearly 90% of the students are from backward and scheduled castes and are the first generation learners. The College has been adjudged “ the best Self-Financing College” by Bharathidasan University among the affiliated colleges in BARD FEST consecutively for five years (2006-2010). The College also extents fee concession to meritorious students and offers free bus service to all students.
Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1996. It offers BCA, B.Sc(C.S), MCA, M.Sc. (I.T), M.Phil, Ph.D , Diploma Courses like PGDCA, BPO and Smart Phone Programming. It has a sophisticated laboratory to explore the students’ skill with latest technologies. It has an academic tie-up with oracle, ICTACT and EMC2 and industrial tie-up with COLLAR Solutions, Chennai. It is the pride of the department that the faculty members and students worked as a team under the support of management have developed ten applications and two mobile apps available in Google playstore. The programme has four Lectures and four practical sessions. The theory session provides exposure to the paricipants in introduction to stastistics and Data mining which includes simultaneous demonstrations. Apart from theory, practical session is given. The workshop is best suited for M.Phil., Ph.D. scholars and faculty members of Department of Computer Science and Department of Mathematics.
Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1996. It offers Under Graduate, Post REGISTRATION FEE Graduate, M.Phil. & Ph.D. Thirty students have obtained M.Phil. Degree till date. It has exalted to Students : Rs. 500/research status in 2013 and is actively concentrating in the areas of Graph Theory, Faculty Members : Rs.600/Algebraic Coding Theory, Operations Research, Stochastic Processes and Statistics. The pride of Important note: the department is to enhance the students’ academic qualification from under graduate level * Participants should bring their own Laptops. to Ph.D. * No TA/DA will be provided. * Participants only with full attendance will be given certificates. * Lunch & Refreshment will be provided.
