DAY 1: HOME CITY - BUENOS AIRES Depart home city for flight to Buenos Aires, capital city of Argentina, often referred to as the "Paris of South America". Meet 'n Greet upon arrival and Transfer to your hotel. Balance of day free to relax, shop, explore on your own, and perhaps schedule an optional Dinner Tango Show for the evening. DAY 2: BUENOS AIRES - CITY TOUR Guided tour of this cosmopolitan city reminiscent of many European capitals with its narrow streets and wide tree lined boulevards, turn of the century architecture, sidewalk cafes and elegant window shops. B DAY 3: BUENOS AIRES - USHUAIA Today, fly south to Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city. Meet 'n Greet upon arrival and Transfer to the Hotel Las Hayas or similar. Located on the border of the Beagle Channel and surrounded by the Martial Mountains, the port city of Ushuaia, originally a penal colony, is now the capital of the Argentinean province of Tierra Del Fuego. B DAY 4: USHUAIA - TIERRA DEL FUEGO Up early, enjoy an excursion to Tierra Del Fuego National Park. Created in 1960 and only 12 kilometers from the city, this extraordinary seaside national park offers beautiful views, spectacular scenery and a variety of flora and fauna species. B Day 5: 4 Day / 3 Night cruise aboard the M/V Via Australis: Check in between 10:00 and 16:00 at 409 San Martín Street. Board the Via Australis cruise ship at 17:30. After a welcoming cocktail reception hosted by the Captain and his crew, the Via Australis will depart for one of the remotest parts of the planet. Our voyage will take us through the Beagle Channel to explore one of the most breathtaking wilderness regions in the world: Southern Patagonia, which includes the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. B L D
Day 6: M/V VIA AUSTRALIS In the morning, we will enter Garibaldi Fjord where we will disembark for a hike through the forest up to a glacial waterfall to enjoy the spectacular views. For those who choose to stay onboard, our Captain will point the bow towards the beautiful blue Garibaldi Glacier so that they can enjoy the panoramic view from the upper decks. In the afternoon we will navigate along the Northwest arm of the Beagle Channel to reach Pia Fjord, where we disembark. We will then take a short hike to gain a panoramic view of the spectacular Pia Glacier, which extends from the mountaintops down to the sea. After this memorable experience, we will continue our voyage along the Beagle Channel through the majestic Glacier Alley. B L D Day 7: M/V VIA AUSTRALIS We will be sailing through Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park, where, weather permitting, we shall go ashore. The legendary Cape Horn was discovered in 1616 and is a sheer 425-meter (1,394-foot) high rocky promontory. For many years it was an important navigation route between the Pacific and the Atlantic, and is referred to as the ‘End of the Earth’. The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2005. In the afternoon, we will go ashore at historic Wulaia Bay, originally the site of one of the region’s largest Yamana aboriginal settlements. Charles Darwin landed there in 1833 during his voyage on the HMS Beagle. This area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. We will take an enchanted walk through the Magellan Forest of lengas, coigües, canelos, ferns, and other endemic vegetation, to reach a panoramic viewpoint. B L D Day 8: M/V VIA AUSTRALIS Acknowledged as the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia was founded in 1884 and was one of the original points of encounter between the Yamana and Anglican cultures. Its name derives from the Yamana word for ‘penetrating bay’ and it’s surrounded by the last high peaks of the Andes. Today, it is one of the largest cities on Tierra del Fuego Island, with around 65,000 inhabitants. Disembarkation is scheduled at 08:30. The perfect opportunity to enjoy the city and its spectacular scenery. B Day 9: USHUAIA - BUENOS AIRES Transfer to Airport for flight to Buenos Aires. Meet 'n Greet upon arrival and Transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day free to realx, shop and explore on your own. For a fun evening, try the colorful cantina Spadaveccia in the Boca district.
