You can contact Jen with all of your students’ counseling needs at
[email protected] or at 970-368-1902. Announcements: ● Mr Smith has a new phone number: My office line is now 970-368-1901. My old extension will continue to work for a short period of time, but please make this change in your contacts. ● The End of the Year Grind: We know that this time of the year can be difficult for some students. Let’s stay the course and keep making progress towards completion of classes, portfolios, and personal projects. Be sure to communicate any concerns with the school, and we are happy to meet with parents of graduates to review progress. We’re here to help! ●
nowy Peaks Junior High School: The highly anticipated expansion of Snowy Peaks to 7th S and 8th grades is happening! Your kind words and recommendations are the best way for us to strengthen our program. If you know of a family who would benefit from our program, please encourage him/her to apply on our website. Space will be limited!
● Summer Renovation! Snowy Peaks is nearly tripling in physical size! We will take over the entire Mount Royal wing of the building. Excited additions will include our own parking lot and entrance, an outdoor patio, a fitness room, a makerspace, expansions to the blended learning labs, new administration offices, and a kitchen. ● Attendance: Attendance still proves to be the number one indicator of student success. Please be sure to contact Mr. Smith to provide a reason when your son/daughter is absent. Thank you for ensuring that your student is at school each day, and if he/she is misses class, please ensure that he/she completes the makeup work. ● WIN period: Each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 2-3 pm, we continue to run small group support for our students. This time, now called WIN (What I Need) Period is an opportunity for students to receive additional academic support in a small, tutoring-type atmosphere. A reminder that this period is mandatory unless your student’s teachers have dismissed him/her. ● Incomplete grades from 3rd Quarter: We pride ourselves on doing whatever it take to help students succeed, and we realize that students all learn at different rates. Students with incomplete work are required to attend WIN period each week until they complete all work. ● Friday Afternoon Activities: Remember that you must complete a minimum of four Friday activities each quarter to pass Advisory. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if we can do anything more to support your child. Go forth and BE LEGENDARY!
