Your registration form and materials/registration fee will hold your place in class for the Spring semester.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis with returning students given priority. Full or half tuition payment is due the first day of class.

Musical Beginnings ~ Toddlers 18 months - 3 ½ & parent Class time: Tuesday evenings from 5:50 p.m. - 6:20 p.m. Registration & Materials: $40 Tuition: $140 (payable the first day or half beginning Sept. 19th)

Please note that there are two separate semesters of the Babies curriculum and four separate semesters of Musical Beginnings.

Growing with Music ~ Preschoolers 3 ½ -5 & parent Class time: Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 7:10 p.m. *Registration & Materials: $47 Tuition: $147 (payable the first day or half beginning Sept. 19th)

If child-care is needed for siblings during classes, please contact Julia as this may be possible to arrange on site (fee would be based on number of parents requesting child-care).

*If you are repeating the Growing with Music class, the registration fee is $25.00.

Success in the Classroom Here you will find some guidance for how to be your child's model for joyful music-making! Each week, as you sing, dance, play, listen and participate fully in every activity and show enthusiasm, your child will too! This is your time to participate with and focus on your child and watch their innate joy for music shine and their unique personalities grow. Here’s some tips (and some classroom rules) to help you get the most out of YAMS and make it wonderful experience for all.

• Provide your child with a positive model of listening and attention in a group. Follow the

teachers directions and allow your child to observe you in action (you do not need to repeat directions for your child). Be sure to allow your child time to make the LISTEN-AND-DO connection.

• Some children need to observe and absorb for quite some time before participating. IT'S OKAY! Resist the urge to force your child to do activities. If you clap, play instruments and sing, eventually your child will too (and it’s exciting to watch this develop in your child).

• If your child is not tapping the rhythm, please tap it somewhere on your child's body with your hand. Please do not take his/her hands to force tapping or clapping or playing.

• Let your child take the cue from observing you listening quietly to music and/or dancing. Please don’t chat with friends during dancing or other listening times.

• If your child puts a rhythm instrument in his/her mouth, please use one of the sanitary wipes provided to clean it before returning it to the container.

• Feel free to use the tissues provided for runny noses at any time. • Please discipline when your child distracts others or otherwise misbehaves with a short time out

in the lobby (i.e.: 1 minute for each year of age). I will not discipline during class unless absolutely necessary. Please do not go home until class ends. Bring your child to see me at the end of class so I can encourage better behavior next time.

• Please, No pacifiers, food, or sippee cups-- so your child will be able to respond vocally. • Please do not chew gum in the classroom. • All cell phones and electronic devices should be OFF while in music class. Please see me before or after class or call me whenever you have concerns. I'm here to help you teach your child. These suggested and proven guidelines will make your classroom music time an enjoyable, positive experience and will help you and your child get the most out of the program.
