Approximate start and end dates are flexible. ________________________________________________________________________ About Us Casa Canadiense-Pueblito Canada (hereafter Casa-Pueblito) is a non-profit, international organization that facilitates community development and intercultural learning with a focus on youth in Canada and Latin America. To learn more, visit www.casapueblito.org Internship Summary: The Youth Outreach Intern will carry out Casa-Pueblito’s global education and outreach efforts in Canada, with emphasis on the Greater Toronto Area. Casa-Pueblito’s global education programme consists of using workshops to engage high school students on global issues, specifically, but not limited to, high school students from Peel who have travelled or will be travelling to Nicaragua on exposure trips organized by their school. This internship position is meant to enhance Casa-Pueblito’s capacity to fulfil the Global Education aspect of its mandate. The aim of Casa-Pueblito’s global education work is to (1) provide youth a forum to discuss and critically consider global issues; and (2) to increase our profile in Canada. Responsibilities:  Facilitate global education and social justice workshops to partner schools and universities Toronto and Peel (Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon).  Plan and deliver annual spring retreat for approximately 50 students.  Facilitate global education and social justice workshops and presentations to other school and university groups in the Greater Toronto Area.

Skills and Qualifications Desired:  Interest or experience in teaching and education  Interest or experience in working with youth  Strong knowledge of social justice, inequality, and global issues  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills  Strong attention to detail  Highly motivated  Ability to work in a team environment and with minimal supervision  Knowledge of Latin America and Spanish language skills are assets
