FADE IN: INT. MUSEUM IN ZOOTOPIA - DAY JUDY HOPS, a hopeful bunny who works as a police officer and hopes to solve the case of 14 missing predators, has an injured leg and leans against a large pillar for support. She is clutching a briefcase. NICK, a fox who is Judy's friend, holds a bundle of blueberries wrapped in cloth in his hand. NICK Okay, now just relax. (spilling blueberries on the floor) WhoopsBlueberry? JUDY Ugh, pass.(grunts in pain) BELLWETHER, the new town Mayer after mayor LIONHEART. She is story's antagonist, is lurking in the museum not far behind Judy and Nick. BOGO is the chief police officer of Zootopia, the town which they are in. BELLWETHER Come on out Judy. Bellwether's shadow is seen in a spotlight shined on a curtain. JUDY (gasps) (whispers to Nick) Take the case. Get it to Bogo. Judy holds out the case to Nick. NICK (whispers back) I'm not going to leave you behind, that's not happening. JUDY (whispers) I can't walk. NICK Just- We'll think of something.
2. Bellwether walks through two plastic curtains as two SHEEP GAURDS, who are shining flashlights, pull them open for her. She continues to walk towards them, her footsteps echoing and her guards following. BELLWETHER We're on the same team Judy. Underestimated, under appreciated... aren't you sick of it? Bellwether cues the guards into opposite directions. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) Predators... they may be strong and loud, but prey outnumber predators ten to one! A shadow of a bunny is seen behind the pillar her and Nick were just at. Bellwether cues her sheep guards in the shadow's direction. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) Think of it, ninety percent of the population united against a common enemy. (Whispers evilly) We'll be unstoppable. A sheep guard creeps up to the pillar. SHEEP GAURD (jumping out behind pillar) Aghhh! Behind the pillar is a statue of a bunny. A loud sound comes from a different part of the museum. BELLWETHER (Pointing to the direction of the sound) Over there! Judy and Nick run for their lives towards the exit. Nick is carrying the briefcase. At the last moment, one of the sheep guards knocks them into a nearby large pit, also knocking the brief case out onto the floor. Bellwether goes to the edge of the pit holding the briefcase. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) (evil chuckle) Well you should have just stayed on the carrot farm, huh. (MORE)
3. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) It really is too bad, I did like you. JUDY What are you going to do? Kill me? BELLWETHER (Laughs cruelly) Nah, of course not. (narrowing eyes) He is. Bellwether pulls out gun and quickly fires it at Nick. Blue substance hits Nick's neck. Nick groans in pain. JUDY NO!! Oh, Nick. BELLWETHER (over the phone, sarcastically) Yes? Police! There's a savage fox in the natural history museum. Officer Hops is down. Please hurry! Judy has her hands on top of Nicks back, standing over him. JUDY No, Nick. Don't do this. Fight it. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) Oh but, he can't help it, can he? Since preds are just biologically predisposed to be savages... Nick growls viciously, getting up onto all fours and staring at Judy like he is about to attack her. Judy runs away from him as he chases her fiercely, snarling and barking as he chases. Judy throws a fake deer statue at him to slow him down, scrambling into some tall grass. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) (laughs) Gosh, think of the headlines! Judy stumbles backwards, terrified of Nick. Nick violently tears up the fake deer with is teeth and his claws. Then he growls ferociously, staring at Judy. BELLWETHER (CONT’D) Hero cop killed by savage fox!
4. JUDY (to Bellwether) So that's it. Pray fears predator and you stay in power? BELLWETHER Yeah. Pretty much. JUDY It won't work! BELLWETHER Fear always works. And I'll dart every predator in Zootopia to keep it that way. Nick's snout gets closer and closer to Judy's face. He is still growling savagely and his eyes are malicious. Judy is panting heavily. JUDY (Worried) Oh, Nick. NONick backs Judy up right against the edge wall of the pit. BELLWETHER (laughs evilly) Bye bye bunny. Nick is extremely close to Judy. Suddenly, he forcefully clamps his jaw down on Judy's neck. Bellwether smiles. JUDY (Screams) Blehhh. Blood, blood, blood! And... death. As Judy speaks, she uses dramatic hand movements to gesture the blood coming out from her chest. After she says "death" she collapses onto the ground sticking her tongue out, playing dead. NICK Alright, you know what? You're milking it. Besides, I think we got it. (yelling upwards) I think we got it! We got it up there, thank you, yakidy yak. You laid it all out beautifully!
5. Bellwether is perplexed that the two are still alive and that her plan didn't work. She turns over her gun and stares at it in disbelief. BELLWETHER (shocked) -What?? NICK Yeah oh, are- are you looking for the serum? (pulls out a little blue ball) Well it's right here. JUDY What you've got in the weapon there? Those are blueberries! Bellwether opens up the gun and finds that there are in fact blueberries inside. JUDY (CONT’D) From my family's farm! NICK (uses his hand to kiss the air) They are delicious! You should try some. BELLWETHER (agitated) Aghrr. I framed Lionheart, I can frame you too! It's my word against yours. JUDY Ooh. Actually, Judy presses her carrot pen and plays a recording of Bellwether confessing that her evil plans. Bellwether's face goes pale. JUDY (CONT’D) It's your word against yours. It's called a hustle sweetheart. (whispers) Boom. Bellwether pants nervously. She backs up only to find that the police force has arrived, leaving her no choice but to surrender.
