  🌑 Please   join   us   this   Saturday,   May   20th,   for   the   annual   DISTRICT   ART   SHOW  a   t   Ravenna  High   School .   The   show   will   showcase   student   art   from   Brown   Middle   School,   Willyard,   Carlin,  West   Main,   West   Park,   and   Ravenna   High   School.    We   have   over   100   Brown   Middle   School  students   participating   in   the   District   Art   Show.    This   community   event   will   take   place   from  Noon­1:30   pm   in   the   Commons   Area   of   the   High   School.    All   students,   staff,   and   community  members   are   invited   for   an   afternoon   of   art   and   engagement.    Please   attend   and   show   your  support   of   Ravenna   School   District's   finest   artists.  🌑 Attention   8th   graders   who   are   14   or   15   and   want   a  summer   job   this   summer:   Stop   by   the   BMS  office   today   to   get   application   paperwork   for   the   Ohio   Youth   Works   Program.  🌑 Attention   8th   grade   students   who   have   submitted   completed   class   officer   petitions:    You   may  begin   hanging   posters   on   Monday   and   Tuesday   during   enhancement   with   your   teacher’s  approval.    Posters   must   be   school   appropriate   and   positive   in   nature.    Posters   are   not   allowed  to   cover   other   signs   or   information   on   the   walls   at   school.    Posters   must   be   taken   down   after  voting   the   following   week.  🌑 Attention   current   7th   and   8th   graders:    Would   you   like   to   have   a  great   summer   by   participating  in   Summer   Playground   Camp.    Ravenna  P   arks   and   Rec   offers   a  Junior   Counselor   Program  that   is   a  leadership   program   for   students   in   8th,   9th,   and   10th   grade.    Your   day   will   be   filled  with   fun   activities   and   mentoring;   and   you   will   also   attend   field   trips.    If   interested,   stop   outside  the   BMS   office   to   pick   up   a  flyer.  🌑 Cast   and   crew   from   the   Ravenna   All­City   Musical   will   be   performing   songs   from   James  and   the   Giant   Peach   at   the   Relay   for   Life   this   Saturday,   May   20th ,  at   Ravenna   High   School  stadium.    Meet   under   the   HOME   bleachers   at   10:40a.m.   where   we   will   organize   and   warm   up  for   our   performance   at   11:00a.m.    Wear   your   Ravenna   All­City   Musical   t­shirts   and   hoodies.    In  addition,   we   will   be   giving   a  preview   of   next   year’s   show,  A   laddin .   Music   and   lyrics   are  available   in   the   BMS   office.    🌑 Attention   8th   graders:   Don’t   forget   to   turn   in   your   field   trip   and   graduation   permission  slips.    Field   trip   slips   due   May   19   and   graduation   slips   due   May   29.  🌑 Attention  8   th   graders:   Don’t   forget   to   bring   in   items   for   the   Class   of   2021   Time   Capsule   to  Mrs.   Booher   in   room   206.    Also,   remind   your   parents   to   write   letters   and   bring   them   to   Mrs.  Booher   here   at   Brown. 

🌑 Attention   8th   graders:    Applications   are   now   available   for   8 th   graders   interested   in  Summer   Gym  a   t   Ravenna   High   School :  The   high   school   offers   summer   gym   classes   to   help  free   up   space   in   your   schedule.   RHS   Summer   Gym   will   be   held   June   12   ­  June   30   from  8:00a.m.­12:00p.m.    at   Ravenna   Stadium.    Cost   is   $25.   Applications   are   available   from   the  BMS   office.    Applications   must   be   returned   with   payment   by   June   2  to   the   BMS   office.    If  interested,   see   Mrs.   Kornbau   in   the   office   to   pick   up   an   application.  🌑 The   blue  R   avenna   “It   Starts   With   Us”   t­shirts   are   on   sale   in   the   main   office   for   only   $5  each.    If   you   wish   to   buy   a  shirt   to   show   your   Raven   Pride,   stop   by   the   office   and   see   Mrs.  Kornbau. 

  SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:  🌑 Attention   8th   grade   girls   interested   in   soccer   next   year   at   the   high   school:   Please   pick   up   a  soccer   schedule   in   front   of   the   BMS   office.    The   schedule   lists   conditioning,   practice   and   game  dates   for   summer   and   fall.    There   is   also   a  fundraiser   sheet   for   concession   stand   volunteer  times.    Any   questions,   contact   Coach   Cahill   at   the   high   school.  🌑 There   is   a  signup   sheet   in   the   office   for   any   6th,   7th,   or   8th   grade   student   interested   in   running  cross   country   next   year.    Running   is   a  great   way   to   promote   a  healthy   lifestyle   and   physical  fitness.    Athletes   of   any   ability   are   able   to   join.    There   are   no   tryouts   for   cross   country.    Also,   if  you   play   another   fall   sport,   you   may   still   be   able   to   join   and   do   both   sports.    Practices   will   begin  in   the   summer   so   it’s   important   you   sign   up   and   get   the   information   before   the   end   of   the  school   year.    There   will   be   an   informational   meeting   next   week.    Listen   to   the   announcements  for   date   and   time   of   the   meeting.  🌑 Girls   and   Boys   Basketball   Open   Gyms   are   being   held   at   the   Ravenna   High   School   Field   House  gym   on   Mondays,   Thursdays,   and   Sundays   from   5:30p.m.­7:00p.m.   for   those   interested   in  playing   basketball.
