Mac OSX 10.6 ACC Wireless Access Installation Instructions 1. Select the Airport Icon and click “Turn on Airport” on by clicking the icon in the top left corner of the screen.
2. Select the icon again and choose “Join Other Network”
3. Type “StaffAnyConnect” (case sensitive) without the quotes, Security is “none”, make sure that “Remember this network” is selected, then click the “Join” button. 4. Once the Airport icon is black, click System Preferences in the bottom task bar.
5. Click the “Network” icon in System Preferences.
6. Click the small “+” sign in the lower left corner of the Network window.
7. Under “Interface” choose “VPN”, under “VPN Type” choose “Cisco IPSEC” and hit the “Create” button. Once it’s created click on the “VPN (Cisco IPSEC) icon with the lock on the left.
8. Fill out the configuration as follows: Server Address: 10.29.1.1 Account Name: Your 8 character EID Password: leave blank at this time (you will be required to enter it later once you connect) Make sure the “Show VPN status in menu bar” is selected as well.
9. Hit the “Authentication Settings…” button and enter the information as follows (they are case sensitive): Shared Secret: imapuser Group Name: ACCWifiVPN
10. Click “Ok”. Click “Apply” on the “Network” window and go ahead and close the window. 11. In the upper right corner of your screen you will see a new icon, click this icon and select “Connect VPN(Cisco IPSEC)” from the drop down list.
12. Make sure your EID is correct and enter your EID password and click “OK”.
13. You will now be connected to the network, open Safari or Firefox and you should be able to browse the internet. 14. To disconnect: select the VPN icon again and select “Disconnect VPN (Cisco IPSEC)”. You can then turn off Airport by selecting the Airport icon and choosing “Turn Airport Off”. 14. On subsequent visits you will turn Airport on, select the StaffAnyConnect network (or re-add it like in step 2. if it’s not remembered properly), then click on the VPN icon and click “Connect VPN (Cisco IPSEC)” and enter your EID password to gain access to the network again. All other settings you inputted should have remained in the configuration.
