Jill. • Total of around 6,000 workers in the different manufacturing facilities and 75% of which are women of reproductive age. • Hamlin Industrial Corporation is one of its facilities and has been in the manufacturing/exporting business for over 20 years, with current manpower of 2,500, 74% female.
In line with NST’s corporate statement “committed to the
improvement of the quality of life of our employees and the community”, the company is
responding to the call to action to address the significant challenge in Family Planning today. Hamlin is implementing a workplace family planning program that includes awareness raising, access to commodities and service provision.
BACKGROUND
Engagement with ECOP and UNFPA • Re-launching of Family Planning Program • Engaging HERnetwork program (program with Ann Inc.) and the PHE team (more reach and personalized approach)
OBJECTIVES
• Provide a sustainable program on family planning (FP) that enables access to FP information, services and commodities. • Improve the maternal health and well-being of our employees. • Increase the usage of modern family planning methods to ensure lower chances of unplanned or unwanted pregnancies.
2016 GOALS
• 90% attendance in family planning counseling sessions. • Increase awareness on FP methods to 90% from 60%. • Increase the usage of modern family planning methods to ensure lower chances of unplanned or unwanted pregnancies to 70% from 54%. • Avoid unplanned / unwanted pregnancy by 90% based on baseline survey.

IVT Training and Implant Insertion Training to allow more flexible schedule to address workers’ needs
Nurses have undergone the IVT Training, a prerequisite for the Implant Insertion Training in RITM on May 21-23. On June 22-23, they have undergone the Implant Insertion Training.
ATTENDANCE on FP COUNSELING SESSIONS 2016 Sustainability Goal: 90% attendance As of June 2016: 86% of the Total # of Women who had Delivery attended the FP Counseling Sessions • 100% of those who were counselled decided to use modern FP method USE OF FAMILY PLANNING METHODS 2016 Sustainability Goal: increase awareness / use to 90% from 60% As of June 2016: 84% or 757 of the 901 workers who have set their FP Goals are using FP methods, either traditional or modern; 16% or 144 of which are still not using any FP method at all. TYPE OF FAMILY PLANNING METHOD USED 2016 Sustainability Goal: increase modern to 70% from 54% As of June 2016, 78% of the 757 workers who have set their FP Goals are using modern methods. UNPLANNED/UNWANTED PREGNANCY 2016 Sustainability Goal: Avoid unplanned / unwanted pregnancy by 90% based on baseline survey. As of June 2016, 95% of the total number of workers who set their FP Goals for 2016 are still on track with their goals.
