CITY OF OJAI RESOLUTION NO. 16-48 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OJAI, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR RETIRED CITY EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City of Ojai provides medical insurance to its retired employees through a contract with the California Public Retirees System (CalPERS); and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ojai approved Resolution No. 13-42 tying the employer contribution to the PPO PERS Choice plan, providing the full cost of employee coverage and eighty percent (80%) of the dependent premium; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 13-42 did not specify that the employer contribution for retiree medical insurance premiums would be tied to the PERS Choice Medicare supplement plan premium; and WHEREAS, the city desires conformity between the medical plans tying the medical premiums for eligible current employees to the PPO PERS Choice plan and eligible retired employees to the PERS Choice Medicare Supplement plan. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OJAI, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 - Effective January 1, 2017 the employer contribution to the retiree medical insurance premium shall be tied to the PERS Choice Medicare supplement plan providing the full cost of retiree coverage and 80% of the dependent premiums.
