MINUTES WYOMING BOARD OF DENTAL EXAMINERS February 8, 2010 The Wyoming State Board of Dental Examiners met via conference call on February 8, 2010. Present: ♦

Dr. Jerri Donahue, Dr. Carol Owens, Dr. Nick Bouzis, Dr. Rod Hill, Dr. Glenn Parry, Janine Englert, Debra Bridges, Sean Chambers, and Angela Dougherty

Call to Order: Dr. Donahue, President, called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m.

Agenda Review: There were no changes/additions to the agenda.

Bronze Bottoms Tanning:

Mr. Chambers shared with the Board the letter that was sent to Bronze Bottoms Tanning in reference to the teeth whitening services advertised as a part of their business. Mr. Chambers requested the Board approve him to pursue legal action as needed against Bronze Bottoms Tanning if they do not comply with the Board’s cease and desist. MOTION: Dr. Parry moved to approve Mr. Chambers to proceed with necessary legal action against Bronze Bottoms Tanning. The motion was seconded by Dr. Owens and passed. MOTION: Ms. Englert moved to approve Mr. Chambers and Dr. Donahue to compose a letter addressed to the Board of Cosmetology informing them that teeth whitening in salons is against the law. The motion was seconded by Dr. Owens and passed. ♦

Unlicensed Practice:

Dr. Parry shared with the Board his findings regarding Anne Smith, an unlicensed dental hygienist. Dr. Parry will send Ms. Bridges the information that he has obtained and a complaint will be filed. Dr. Parry was assigned as the investigative contact person. ♦

Adoption of Rules:

MOTION: Dr. Parry moved to adopt Chapter 2 proposed rule changes. The motion was seconded by Dr. Hill and passed. MOTION: Dr. Hill moved to adopt Chapter 3 proposed rule changes. The motion was seconded by Ms. Englert and passed. ♦

Executive Session:

Dr. Hill recused himself from deliberations regarding complaint 08-02. Dr. Donahue reminded the Board what their job was in considering the settlement agreement. Dr. Hill, Dr. Donahue, Ms. Dougherty, and Ms. Bridges disconnected from the call at 6:11 p.m. The Board convened into executive session at 6:15 p.m. The Board reconvened the meeting at 6:25 p.m. ♦

Action on Docket No. 08-02:

Dr. Bouzis moved to accept the Settlement Agreement on Docket No. 08-02. The motion was seconded by Dr. Owens and passed with Dr. Hill recusing himself from voting. ♦

Adjournment: The Board meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
