Thank you for coming out and attending our Winter Council of Chiefs meeting 3. Section Officer Election a. Congratulations to Mike Stanbary the newly elected Section Chief! b. Congratulations to Pat Wilson the newly elected Vice-Section Chief! 4. New Business a. Lodge & Chapter Resources: Best Practices i. A new webpage has been added on the national order of the arrow website that offers the opportunity to read and share different ideas and programs that are currently working for lodges and chapters around the nation. These include increasing participation at National Leadership Seminar, increasing brotherhood conversion rate, and more. Go to www.oa-bsa.org and search best practices. b. Quality Lodge Pins i. New and different quality lodge pin for 2010 and the new century of scouting. If you earned quality lodge for 2010, order the pins through your lodge today. c. National Leadership Seminar (2/25-2/27) i. National Leadership Seminar is a great opportunity for youth and adults regardless of Order of the Arrow experience. It is a great training that serves its purpose beyond the Order of the Arrow and will affect you outside of scouting and have an impact on your everyday life. d. OA High Adventure Promotion i. Take advantage as a youth to go out and experience all the Order of the Arrow has to offer. Sign-up to for the four different bases and be sure to visit the section website for High Adventure Scholarship. The section has two $200 scholarships to give away to high adventure participants. The deadline for the scholarship is February 1st, 2011. 5. 2011 Section C-7 Conclave a. Conclave Theme Explanation i. The 2011 Section Conclave theme is ServeStrong: Dare to be Cheerful. We chose this theme because it speaks to everyone and defines what the Order of the Arrow is. A theme that can be built upon and can be related to every Arrowmen and why they choose to give cheerful service.
b. Conclave Event Patch i. The event patch design is located in the COC packets. c. Conclave Promotion & Attendance d. Conclave Vice-Chief’s Report i. Training Committee 1. Trainings will be focused on service and the groups we serve as Arrowmen. Training will be available for both youth and adults. ii. Activities Committee 1. Activities will be divided throughout the afternoon in three different sections. The first will be a series of lodge competitions. The second part of the afternoon will include open activities possibly including volleyball, Frisbee, climbing, ceremonies competition, and more. The third part will be a lodgeball tournament between the eight lodges in our section. iii. Shows Committee 1. The show will be centered on making a difference through service in scouting and in the world. The show will include some music and games to get everyone involved in the show. iv. Special Event Committee 1. Special event committee is planning several activities throughout the weekend. The highlights of the planning is the Saturday Hodag party along with the Very Important Arrowmen (VIA) Luncheon. e. Resolution: Conclave Attendance Fee i. $30 for youth price and $35 for adults as the price for the Section Conclave. And registration after April 11th, 2011 a $10 late fee will be added 6.
