GM announced that Caoimhe Ni Chuinn (Polo Chairperson) and Kevin O’Callaghan (TDU Chairperson) were unable to attend and offered their apologies to the meeting.

Item 1:Adoption of Board Minutes The minutes of Canoeing Ireland board meeting held on February 29th, 2012. These were proposed by BOB and seconded by YG. The minutes were adopted. Item 2: Matters rising There were no matters arising. Item 3: Correspondence Received GM read out all correspondence received. GM informed the Board he was able to arrange with CI Insurance Brokers (ODON) for day membership to be included on the Insurance Policy with a maximum of 3 uses per person before full membership would be required. GM read out correspondence from Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport regarding the Sports Capital Grant Programme. A general discussion was held and it was agreed that each discipline would apply to the programme separately, with support letters from the CI office if necessary. Item 4: Strategic Development Plan There was a general discussion regarding the Strategic Development Plan. The Board agreed that the GM would find a Facilitator for the Strategic Plan. Item 5: Canoeing Ireland ADM The Board discussed two dates for the upcoming ADM, one in May and one in December. It was agreed that May 19th be set as the date for the ADM. Item 6: Irish Sports Council Governance There was a discussion regarding the Governance of the ISC and the role of CI within such. Item 7: Asset Register GM informed the meeting that there was now an up to date asset register for all equipment stored within the Liffey Training Centre. It was agreed that all disciplines were to hold an Asset Register of the gear under their remittance. Item 8: AOB. There was no more business to be discussed. Next Meeting It was decided that the next meeting would take place on 25th April 2012. The meeting closed at 22:30.
