ALLEN COUNTY INDIANA JUDGES CHECKLIST BEFORE ELECTION DAY  Attend training , vote early and plan for your meals  Judges are to attend Monday Night set up. If the Inspector has not called to confirm the meeting time for Monday Night set up, contact the Inspector. Assistant Judges may be requested to assist, if there are 6 or more machines at the polling location

MONDAY NIGHT SET UP Tip: Setting up the voting machines might be easier if one person reads the instructions to the other  Refer to the Infinity Technical Manual in the Inspector Manual  Cut the seal on each machine case and set up voting booths. Plug panel in and turn on (p.2-3)  With no card inserted in the panel, press the red Cast Vote button. A status screen appears (p.4) a. Verify that panel is in MODE: READY b. Verify that VOTES RECORDED equals zero (0) c. Verify date & time are correct (located at the top of the panel) d. Verify the Precinct Name is correct if only one precinct is programmed on the machine. If more than one precinct is programmed on the machine, the Precinct Name will indicate MULTIPLE  Locate one Green Start Card from the red small envelope (as shown to the right) from the black Inspector box  Insert the Green Start Card in to the Infinity Panel (p.5). Enter the security code which is printed on the enclosed white password card

Cards

 Check each ballot on the Infinity Panel against white envelope labeled sample ballots from the black Inspector box (p.8) a. Press the SHOW BALLOT button b. If one precinct is programmed on the panel, the screen will immediately display the ballot c. If more than one precinct is programmed on the panel, your next selection will be the button next to each precinct name. Continue through all precincts until you have viewed all ballots

 Print a zero proof tape (p.9-13) and put them into the red tapes envelope  Set up and test the Double Talk Equipment. Refer to Inspector Manual General Information (p.11-12)  Sign the Certificate of Ballot Agreement in the blue PRE-1 Precinct Oath Book Step 5  Remove green card from panel, turn off machine, unplug power cords and secure each case with new seal provided in red cards envelope. Return green start card to the cards envelope

MORNING DUTIES ON ELECTION DAY Between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM  At 5:00 AM, meet with all workers at the polling location per Indiana law  Cut the seal and open each case. Attach the power cord to the panel and turn on  After turning on each Infinity Panel, push the Red Cast Vote Button on each panel and ensure that the total votes cast on each panel is still zero (0)

ALLEN COUNTY INDIANA JUDGES CHECKLIST  Insert a green start card in each panel and enter the security code from the white password card. This will take you to the MODE: READY screen. Please note that you will now see START ELECTION on the screen

Cards

 Press the button next to START ELECTION (p.14). On the next screen, press the button next to START (p.15). Remove the green start card and return it to the red cards envelope

ELECTION DAY 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM  Use the Blue Vote Card to set the Infinity panels for each voter (p.16-19)  Review the voter’s ticket and select the correct precinct (and party, during Primary Elections only) on the machine. Use the Judge’s script to assist voters  After setting the machine for the voter, place the voter’s ticket in the Extra Large Gold envelope labeled Election Day Voter Tickets  After the voter leaves, check the Infinity panel for a blank screen and that no materials have been left behind. If the voter did not press the red cast button and left the polling location, both Judges MUST cancel the ballot (p.20) Be sure to tell the Inspector to record the cancelled vote on the back of large red envelope  If a voter needs assistance an Affidavit of Voter Assistance (PRE-3) must be completed BEFORE entering the voting booth  If a voter requests assistance AFTER they enter the voting booth, NO ONE may enter behind the booth to assist. Judges can give instructions from outside the booth by holding up a sample ballot to guide the voter through the screens

AFTER THE POLLS CLOSE After 6:00 PM until completion of duties  Do not tally the voting machines until the last voter has left the polling location. All voters in line by 6:00 PM must be allowed to vote before closing the polling location. You will not be able to return an Infinity panel to active status once it is tallied

Cards

 Match the machine number on the Red Tally Card to the machine number on the back of the Infinity panel; insert the tally card into the panel (p.22)  Enter the security code from the white password card and press the button next to DONE. Then press the button to the left of the word TALLY  When the tally process is complete, print a tape for the machine (p.23-26)

Tapes

 Repeat the process for each machine. REMEMBER EACH MACHINE HAS ITS OWN TALLY CARD  Place the tapes in the Tapes envelope and the cards in the Cards envelope. Place both envelopes in the large Red envelope  Disassemble and seal each machine case after closing (p.26)  Place Extra Large Gold envelope with all voter tickets back in Inspector box  Remain at the polling location until all documentation is complete, the voting machines have been closed and sealed, all supplies have been returned to their original boxes and the Inspector releases you
