Hydrologist If you have strong working expertise in Hydrology with a science degree, bring your scientific knowledge and expertise to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, Northern Region Technical Support Section, to provide surface water quality and quantity expertise in support of regional water programs. What can I expect to do in this role? -
review reports and evaluate hydrological impacts of proposed and existing activities design, carry out and/or interpret results of surface water field investigations provide scientific advice as regional expert in environmental response situations provide surface water expertise, including preparing/presenting scientific reports. review modeling information, such as 2 & 3D models

Mandatory requirements: - You have a degree with specialization in disciplines such as hydrology, biology, chemistry, or water resources. - You have a valid class G Ontario driver's licence to conduct field work in multiple job locations within the region. Technical skills: - You have demonstrated experience and knowledge in all a spects of hydrology, including water resource management, surface water assessments, quality and quantity investigation and remediation. - You have the ability to conduct field investigations and prepare reports. - You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant environmental legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines. - You have demonstrated and applied research, investigative, analytical, problem-solving and project/time management skills. Communication skills: - You have communication skills to prepare and present technical assessments, recommendations and scientific reports. - You have writing skills to prepare minister's correspondence, briefing notes, and other documents. - You have communication and presentation skills to present scientific and opinion information as expert testimony before the courts. Computer skills:
- You have proficiency in computer modeling and other software applications to utilize and support data analysis, evaluation and report preparation activities.
