2 LCC opens in Ligao City nd
Hundreds of Ligaoenos and residents of neighboring towns trooped to the Ligao Town Center along McKinley Road in Bgy. Bagumbayan when LCC Ligao opened for business on December 14, 2013. The newest commercial landmark is the 2 LCC in Ligao City. There were surprise treats and opening promos from partner-vendors and suppliers as a motorcade around the city and suburbs took place. A day before, LCC management and staff, together with their guests held the blessing and ribboncutting ceremonies. Rev. Fr. Franco Rafael Segarra of the St. Stephen, the Promartyr Parish officiated the blessing of the LCC Ligao which comprises of a Supermarket, Department Store and Home Gallery as well as mall tenants. The ribbon-cutting rites at the mall, supermarket, department store and home gallery were shared by Mayor Patricia Gonzales-Alzua, Cong. Fernando Gonzales and Vice Mayor Jorlan Guanzon with assistance from the members of the LCC Board of Directors. During the short programme and reception that followed, LCC Assistant General Manager for Supermarket Christian Tan rendered his welcome remarks. He said that like public service which provides what the constituents need, LCC is customer-oriented and gives what the customers want. LCC Chairman and CEO Antonio Tan said that the opening was a very special day for everybody as we are joyfully celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and will also be celebrating the feast day of Ligao in commemoration of its patron, St. Stephen Promartyr come December 26. In his message, Mr. Tan especially mentioned the very dynamic tandem of Cong. Fernando Gonzales and his wife, former Mayor Linda Gonzales for laying the groundworks for Ligao’s economic and social progress, as well as the fundamentals of a clean and honest local governance. He also acknowledged the hands-on leadership of incumbent Mayor Alzua as well as the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod not only for ensuring the continuity of the various plans and programs of the previous administration, but also for opening more avenues that would push for the realization of the vision of Ligao as one of the most investor and business-friendly cities in Albay and the entire Bicol region. As partner in development, the LCC Chairman and CEO said that “we will be generating more employment and income opportunities for the local residents. We will pay our taxes, including our co-locators and mall tenants as our way of increasing local revenues and LGU’s income.” He assured the Ligaoenos that LCC will be in Ligao to serve them better, to offer a wider assortment of quality and affordable goods and merchandise and to delight everyone with comfortable and convenient shopping experience right at their doorsteps.
Mayor Alzua, in her message, welcomed LCC Ligao for continuously being a partner in promoting and sustaining the growth and progress of the city. She assured the LCC management of the local government unit’s all-out support. Cong. Gonzales, for his part, likewise welcomed the 2 LCC as he looked forward to more LCC stores in Ligao City in the future. He considered the new investment as a public-private partnership. He added that with LCC, the Ligao Town Center is being put to good use. nd
In his message of thanks, LCC Managing Director Ronaldo Tan thanked Cong. Gonzales who has originally envisioned Ligao to be a city and be the staging point of all developments that also benefitted the 3 district of Albay province. rd
Among the LGU officials who also graced the inaugural opening were City Councilors Howard Sim Imperial, Jaypee David, Ana Manlangit, Alfonso Saret, Jowe Canaveral and Helen Abalos, City Administrator Vir Flores, City Treasurer Gina David, Secretary to the Sanggunian Armando Abo, OIC-City Information/Tourism Officer Gina Balingbing and City Engineer Shieldon Capulong. The members of the Barangay Council of host Barangay Bagumbayan headed by Punong Barangay Gisela Clarino came in full force. On the part of LCC management, also on hand to usher in the guests were SVP for External Affairs Emilio Tan, Managing Director for Supermarket Marita Tan, Vice President for Food Operations Teresita Tan, Vice President for Food Production Asuncion Tan, Christien Frances Tan, Corporate Affairs Manager Guada Espinas and General Manager for Department Store Rubina Yu. Managing Director for Department Store Virginia Tan joined on the opening day.
