April 2015 Greetings from Cameroon! The rainy season is timidly making its way across the nation. The air is slowly clearing, and the grass and farms are transforming from the color of dead amber to vivid green. We just completed our Mission Emphasis Month and the collection of our Faith Promise commitments in our local churches. It was a blessing to have sermons, videos and a guest speaker emphasizing our corporate and individual Great Commission responsibilities. One of our missionary partners came and updated our churches about his work in the Akwaya region. Cameroonian Pastor Felix has a burden to see 20 churches planted in this region in 2015. Dozens of Cameroonian and North American evangelists and disciple makers are participating in this huge endeavor this summer. Please pray for Pastor Felix, his family, his missionary coworkers and his long-term desire to establish a gospel-preaching church in all 99 villages of Akwaya, Cameroon. More than a dozen churches have already been started, and a Bible institute is being established in this area to train national leadership. A few months ago, Pastor Felix hosted a leadership conference for these little scattered churches. More than 200 men and women attended! God is doing great things in Akwaya. It is a joy to be involved in faithful evangelism. Two years ago, I was handing out tracts on a busy street in Bamenda. We do this from time to time and can easily distribute hundreds of tracts in an hour’s time. On this particular occasion, a lady saw me handing out free literature and crossed the street to receive her free gospel tract. She was thankful, and I invited her to Faith Baptist Church. Eliane came that Sunday and trusted Christ at the invitation. Becca had the privilege of leading her to Christ and discipling her during her first few months as a new believer. All this time, Eliane has been coming on the church bus with her three children and praying for her husband to be saved. Two weeks ago, during Friday visitation, we had the wonderful privilege of leading Eliane’s husband Sunday to faith in Christ! Sunday has been in church the past two weeks and is presently working through a John and Romans Bible study we have produced. Thank God for answered prayer and for the power of the Gospel to change the lives of all who believe (Romans 1:16)! This week, I will begin teaching the course, “The Pastor and His Ministry” (Pastoral Theology), in our Bible college. Please continue to pray for the men and women in our Bible institute and Bible college. Over the past few weeks, our family has experienced what is commonly called here, “the change of season kata” (intense sinus pressure and congestion). Almost everyone in the family has been hit with it. We appreciate your faithful prayers for daily strength and health to serve the Lord. Thank you for your faithful partnership. Thank you for laboring together with us in Cameroon for the glory of God and the spread of His marvelous Gospel.
