It is the policy of the member districts of the Chittenden East Supervisory Union #12 that the curricula shall be coordinated to allow students to meet or exceed standards established by the Vermont Grade Expectations and ultimately The Common Core State Standards as of the 2013/2014 school year and beyond. Curriculum plans and common units and assessments shall be coordinated between sending and receiving schools within the school districts and will be periodically reviewed. CESU curriculum will be continually monitored and enhanced to support college and career readiness for our graduates and ensure they have the necessary opportunities to successfully achieve proficiency of state standards. The superintendent shall be responsible for the development, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum. The superintendent shall ensure that the curriculum is consistent with the school districts’ missions as approved by the school boards. For the purposes of this policy, the curriculum is defined as all planned learning activities within the member boards’ jurisdiction. The superintendent or his/her designee shall conduct systematic evaluations of all programs within the curriculum and report the results to the school boards at least annually.
