27 September 2017 Dear Parent/Guardian, Residential visit to France (Year 8 & 9 students) We are planning to take a group of children on a residential visit to the “Gîte de la Colmont”, an education language and activity centre situated in Mayenne, Southern Normandy, France. The trip will take place from the 9th to 13th July 2018. Its purpose is to give the students an opportunity to experience the history, culture and language of this historic region, as well as try out new and fun activities. The children will also be taking part in fun and exciting evening entertainment which include; a talent show, French fancy dress and quiz night, blind date and a disco, with prizes awarded for the best costume and talent show act. All dormitories are en-suite. The teachers’ accommodation is situated next to your child’s dormitory for ease of supervision and security. The children receive three meals a day, incorporating French cooking methods with food that children will enjoy. The total cost is £470 which includes all transport (coach and either ferry or tunnel), insurance, full board and accommodation, equipment and instruction. It also includes the trip to the Mont St Michel, St Malo and Disneyland Paris. If you would like your child to be considered for this educational and exciting trip, please sign and return the attached reply slip and forms, together with an initial deposit of £100 (initial deposits are non-refundable) by the 25th October 2017.
