Healthy Fundraising for Ontario Schools
What is Fresh from the Farm? Fresh from the Farm was designed to provide healthy alternatives to schools by selling Ontario-grown fruit and vegetables to school communities. • Schools keep 40% of sales. • Families enjoy value priced Ontario-grown food. • Since 2013, almost 300 schools have raised over $273,000 selling 744,000 lb of Ontario produce. Last year, the average school raised over $1100!

• Schools enrol May 2 – October 7.
What Ontario-grown fruit and vegetables are sold?
• Schools submit orders by October 17. • Product is delivered to schools during the month of November.
• Fresh from the Farm supports Ontario government initiatives: Local Food Act, School Food and Beverage Policy, Student Nutrition Program, and Healthy Kids’ Strategy;
Bundle A—$12 5 lb potatoes, 3 lb carrots, 3 lb sweet potatoes, 3 lb onions
• provides opportunities for students to learn about agri-food and healthy eating; and
Bundle B—$15 8 lb box apples
Why Participate? Fresh from the Farm is the only school fundraiser eligible to over 4000 schools, selling Ontario-grown fruit and vegetables.
• supports Ontario farmers and our local economy.
• Students fundraise beginning September 6.
• Volunteers receive, sort and bundle vegetables. • Parents pick-up their order.
