Brief profile of the Company : Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners) is an international multidisciplinary consulting practice established 1956 in Lebanon and specializes in all engineering trades: planning, engineering, environment, economics, and project and construction management. It is a private closed joint-stock company owned by working partners, completely independent from any interests in the fields of construction, contracting, or manufacturing. Our principal design offices and technical support facilities are located in Beirut, Lebanon; Cairo, Egypt; London, UK; and Pune, India; 41 other permanent local offices worldwide are in charge of liaison/representation, of which 13 are in the GCC countries. Dar Al-Handasah has provided consultancy services to more than 850 clients in 60 countries, and has handled projects involving a total investment cost of over US$ 210 billion (construction costs for executed projects, excluding planning projects). With a permanent staff of 6,300 (including 3,750 professionally qualified engineers; architects; town planners; environmentalists; economists; finance, marketing and management specialists; quantity surveyors and others) and over 3,220 successfully completed projects, Dar Al-Handasah has in-house expertise and experience to cover a wide range of engineering fields. Internationally renowned for excellence in multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, backed by a solid financial standing, Dar Al-Handasah was ranked in the ENR surveys of 2010 at 9th overall, 5th among pure design firms, 1st in the Middle East, 3rd in Africa, 6th in the USA, and figured among the top consultants in Airports & Airport Terminals (2nd), Transportation (3rd), Highways (6th), Bridges (1st), Marine & Port Facilities (9th), Mass Transit & Rail (12th), General Buildings (1st). This rating is for international billings which also includes design fees by contractors and not only pure consultants.
