Campus Commune will act as a one-stop shop to enable students to stay connected with TCS. This would also help TCS reinforce our commitment towards academia and enable us to continuously engage with our partners. Campus Commune will help students connect, share and explore. It will help them get their queries addressed, learn, express their opinions, share their experience with others, interact with associates and feel the pulse of the company. This will act as a launch pad to enable students to take off comfortably and plan for a smooth landing when they join TCS.

About Campus Commune Campus Commune is professional network by TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) that provides a platform to academia and TCS to connect, communicate and collaborate. It is a 24x7 platform that eliminates barriers of time, place and reach resulting in spontaneous and enthusiastic collaboration between interest groups in academic institutions and interest groups within TCS. The main objective of Campus Commune is to engage the academic community and provide campus students with an online platform to build networks with their peers, share experiences, resolve their queries, interact with industry experts and learn together as a community. Ultimately, Campus Commune is aimed at providing students a head start for a smooth landing into the corporate world.
Role of Training and Placement Officers Training and Placement Officers (TPO) of Institutes are invited to play the role of facilitators within the framework of Campus Commune. TPO’s will be able to view the content pertaining to Campus Commune Home Page and the content posted by the students of their respective institutes within the Institute’s community page. Thus TPOs will have direct access to view student’s participation and the quality of content available on the portal. We also solicit support from TPOs in identifying Campus Champions from the Institute who will be expected to coordinate with TCS in order to facilitate various activities within the framework of the portal.
Features of Campus Commune Campus Commune can be accessed through the TCS campus portal- Next Step. The following are the features of Campus Commune: Just Ask Just Ask is the social Q&A activity center through which users can post questions, answer posted questions and also comment and vote on answers. TCS Spectrum TCS Spectrum is the media activity center that showcases the latest events and happenings at TCS. Users can rate and comment on the postings. Debates & Polls Users can participate in debates and voice their opinion through polls. Arena The Arena corner hosts exciting contests and challenges where the community can exhibit talent and get noticed.
Communities Students can join various communities and interact with their seniors and subject matter experts from TCS, participate in community activities and network with other community members. Careers @TCS This informative section provides an overview of TCS and the various career streams offered. It features testimonials and profiles of TCSers, outlines the TCS campus selection process, provides tips to prepare for the selection process and information on the campus engagement events at TCS.
Access and Log in Credentials for Students Registration on Next Step is a pre-requisite to access Campus Commune. Students from FY 13 Batch can log onto Next Step Portal https://nextstep.tcs.com and register themselves with TCS by clicking on “Create your profile “tab. They can select their year of graduation and the Institute Name from the drop down menu and complete the registration process. Further to successful registration they would get an email with their reference number (CT20XXxxxxxx) and password. Students can log onto Next Step and Campus Commune using these login credentials.
